I'm a complete n00b when it comes to psychedelics, the only ones I've taken were shrooms, and they were pretty weak. I never hallucinated per se, but colors became more intense, things got kinda wavy out of the corner of my eye and I got an extreme case of the giggles. What can I expect from acid compared to that? I had a bad head trip once off the shrooms and it kinda scared me. I'd like to try acid, but it intimidates me a little. My mind has a tendency to go off on rants, and when I get something like that in my head it's kind of hard for me to shake it, especially in an altered state. I've always heard that if you're on acid and want to come down faster than just riding it out, drinking milk will help. Is there any truth to this? Is there anything that would help to bring me down if I realize I really don't like it and start getting scared? Sorry if this seems like an ignorant question.....I just don't know anything about acid other than it's a hallucinogen. How often do people see things that aren't really there on acid? Thanks for takin the time to read this
stop asking questions and just try it. the less you know about the drug, the less you anticipate, the more you are blown away. Read up on it after you trip, trust me, I cant tell you how many drugs have been a let down because of my over-researching. not to say that acid will be a let down but it is really fun to just sort of jump into the void, without looking first.
^^^knowledge is power. if you want to be dominated by a drug then go blindly into it. but if you want to be one with the drug learn something about it.
Yea part of the fun in exploring different drugs is not knowing what the fuck to expect, and having no expectations.
That doesnt make sense. Indigenous shamans didnt do research on their sacraments, and they probably got more out of mushrooms than any of us can say. No amount of reading can prepare you for the psychedelic experience, its like sex or music or death, you dont know it until youve done it. thats my opinion, Im still an unrelenting drug nerd, so dont take what I say too seriously.
so, lets say i know nothing about acid other that what ive heard. all ive heard is that my friend could not sleep for hours after taking acid. so i decide to take it so i can stay up as i drive a long road trip. whats the worst that could happen.
Everyone knows that acid is a hallucinogen. He wouldnt be asking about it if he'd never heard of it before. There's nothing wrong with asking people for advice about the experience, but thats different than researching it. Remember set and setting, try meditating and introspection, and I guarantee you will have a good time.
dude do not drive when you are on acid. i had to do it once (just a few blocks) and it was really intense. the worst that could happen is that you end up tripping balls and lose control of the car. baaad idea!
Hallucinogen doesn't mean you will have hallucinations. Think about your Shroom trip. How were your logic, emotions, thinking, experiences, spirituality affected, apart from just seeing colors? Those things are more what hallucinogens are like.
jeez...people who dont research the drugs they do end up in hospitals or prison....dont be a retard about drugs. RESEARCH THE FCK OUT OF EM! I mean for christ's sake, would you eat a random pill I just walked up and handed you without knowing what it was? if you do, come over, I have a wonderful bridge to sell you. Of course you wouldn't eat a random pill I handed you...and if you do chances are you're going to end up so fucked up by the drugs you've done that you're going to have to have your own version of sharon osborne just to help you wipe your ass... To answer the question at hand though, I find that most of the time the way I feel on LSD is completely controlable given a bit of calm centering. Just take a slow deep breath, and rather than focusing on the negative thing you're experiencing, instead begin contemplating the wonder of actually being alive, and able to contemplate your life...that for me usually puts me in a pretty happy place, and then after a few seconds I've completely forgotten what I was upset about.
i think the milk thinggy is a lie.. few drinks of alcohol used to make my acid trip less intense but never brought it down..
The first time I did acid, I was unprepared, BUT (and this is a big but) I was with friends that were experienced trippers and I was in a location with which I was very familiar. The set and setting were very comfortable. However, had I not trusted my friends so much, or had I been in a strange place, not knowing much about acid could have been very bad. While it can be fun to learn about a substance purely from experience, I think that it would be wise to learn about acid before you do it so that you know somewhat what to expect. Have Fun!
The best remedies for a bad trip are a good friend with an open mind (the big key), soft lighting, soft music and a calm environment. If it's really, really bad, a couple beers (not a lot, maybe 4 max) or a medicinal dose of a benzo will help to calm some anxiety, but nothing will kill a trip except time.
How can you see the things that are not there? - They are there but you couldn't see them before acid
Ok, ok. Maybe my phrasing of "I don't know anything" was a little too broad. I know some things about acid...just the general things though. Like, it's a hallucinogen, it has the potential to totally flip your mind, not something to be "played" with and could be a very enlightening experience. I guess what I meant to say was, I haven't talked to many people experienced in acid and therefore I don't know what to expect. That's a little better....sorry for the confusion. I have and do research my drugs before I do them. But, there's only so much you can learn from reading "textbook" cases, I guess what I was really after was everybody's different experiences on acid. That would help me a whole lot more. Sorry again for the confusion...sometimes I have a hard time expressing myself the right way if ya know what I mean
