I have a tattoo that was done in january of '07....and every once in a while it will start to itch so bad, I just want to tear my skin off. It's one of those really deep-set itches, and scratching just doesn't help. It was the first tat I ever got, and it's definitely home-made...it was done with a gun made from cd player parts. I've since had two done professionally and neither of those itch at all.
Also, I've been thinking of getting a nipple piercing. There's two thing's I'm concerned with: the pain and the fact that I'm rather large chested. I have my tongue and lip pierced...didn't feel my tongue at all, but my lip kinda hurt. I'm not THAT worried about the initial pain...if I want it done, I'm gonna get it done regardless. What I am worried about is the aftercare. Going bra-less in public for me is completely out of the question. Any large chested girls have their nipples done? If so, how long after you get it done can you wear a bra without it hurting too bad?

doing the tat yourself is somewhat asking for trouble IMHO. maybe little bit of the toxic metals too far in flesh to bloodlines or nerves maybe?

as for braless, no man will be concerned by that look. :p (unless they are fatties-joking)

Eek. Yeah, I agree. You shouldn't tattoo yourself, you're just asking for trouble. Anything could happen.

Good luck with your nipple piercing if you decide to go through with it! :)

well, I didn't do the tat myself, someone else did it....an aspiring artist you could say. it was on new year's eve and to say the least there was some alcohol involved on my part...the artist wasn't drinking though. It healed up ok, but like I said, every once in a while it will itch really really bad. Is there anything that could be done for it, or will it be like that forever? Also, it definitely needs touched up...will this make it worse or have any harmful effects?
And I'm not concerned about the men.....i know they'd love it lol.....it's just I personally feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable in public without a bra on....even when someone comes to visit me, I run for the bedroom and put one on. They are rather large, have been that way since I was 14 and I'm now 24....so gravity's definitely taken it's toll on them :(

pray that you never become Ms. Chokesondick from south park.....funny show.

i dont think its so much an amature doing the tattoo as the fact that you homemade the device.

chances are that: a) The needle wasnt fully sanitized, so you may have a precistant little germ in there irritating you

or b) drinking beforehand typically causes you to bleed more during the procedure, maybe that could have helped lead back to circumstance a) ???

i'm pretty small chested and don't wear bras...so that was never a thing for my nipple piercing, but I sometimes wore a bra when it was just new to make sure it was not getting irritated or snaged on stuff...so I'm sure you won't have a problem.

yeah i dont have big boobs either, but i wore bras, not the first night, but after to make sure it wouldnt catch on anything...i would say that you actually should wear bras, so long as they aren't ridiculously tight..maybe sportsbras would be more comfortable

I wore a bra when mine was healing (from the first day) and I'd say it helped. But you might want to choose something not lacy for a bit.

You probably have a slight allergy to one of the colors in the tattoos. Allergies are most common in reds, but can occur in any color. Given the shady nature of the tattoo, who knows what the fuck kind of ink this prison slinger stuck in you. The best way to deal with the issue is to take a claritin or benadryl when it flairs up. If an allergy med helps, then that is your problem. Also, my slight ink allergy flairs up when my pollen allergies do. Theres no other fix really except maybe lasering it off.

If it has been this long, it is not infected. You should still go get an HIV/hep test because the sanitation factor sounds shady as FUCk. Someone doing work on other people with a machine made of radio parts on an intoxicated person is NOT an aspiring artist; he is a reckless hack job. Period. Aspiring artists invest in the equipment needed to do the craft. You won't find an aspiring painter smearing around colors with Q-tips. Punch the guy in the nose next time you see him for risking your health and giving the tattoo community a bad name.

Ok, as I've said before, I know what look for when it comes to sanitary. The needles AND the little ink cups he used were brand spakin new, never been opened before. The gun was a homemade gun because he couldn't afford to buy a real one but is a whiz at electronics. I am a little more responsible than to let just anybody tattoo me...I am completely clean and I know how to stay that way, thank you.
Thanks to the girls that responded, I'm still iffy on my decision....I'm thinkin I'll need a few pain pills in me before I venture on doing that :p

I'd say you are allergic to whatever ink was used. You are just gonna have to deal with it though, since it's already under your skin.

As for nip piercings with big boobs, it's doable and you can still wear a bra. I would suggest that the initial jewelry be barbells as opposed to rings. Rings rest funny on large breasts and put pressure on the piercing, especially when you are wearing a bra. Allow for some bra-free time while you are at home and they will be ok.

"you know what to look for" ???

Did you see an autoclave with current spore tests? Did you see a dedicated room with completely non-porous surfaces? Did you see his body substance isolation certification? Did you see all tools and work surfaces covered in plastic and bagged? If you answered "no" to any of these, then he was not keeping the best sanitary standards. Period.

Don't get defensive. It is near impossible for him to be as safe as he should be under the described conditions. This is a commentary on him, rather than you.
