Hello Fello Business Owners

I have recently come to a conclusion that I want to start my own business, it all started when I had my child, Adonis. I have this idea of what i really want and would enjoy doing in my life. I want a full metaphysical shop with a small cafe connected to it, On the other side of the business is going to be a 24 hour day care for the low income families. But you see thats not just it. The profits of my other businesses after I am comfortable will go to my non-profitable business, a free get-w-way for runaway teens, homeless teens and young adults to go to eat, shower, wash and dry thier clothes, play games, find jobs, stay out of trouble, and much more. I just need to know what i am going to have to focus on most, and what is the easiest ways to run a business and all that jazz, it is still going to be 3 or more years before i actually attemp to get a business loan, <laugh>, but still I'm going to do this

I'd pick one thing to start with and develop the rest later. You don't really "start" a business, you "grow" one. If you start out trying to do everything all at once, both your energy and your resouces will become diffused.

Eventually, I'd like a little bookstore with a cafe/art gallery attatched. I'm starting out selling hemp necklaces, because that's what I have on hand. Create a vision for the future, but be flexible with it and be willing to start with one small idea and let it grow a little at a time. Ease into it, and remember, you've got to let your business get strong enough to support itself before you can expect it to support you.

If I were you, I'd look into a SBDC (Small Business Development Center) near you. You can get classes there, and free business counselling. Check the sticky about small business resources for more helpful information.

I am in the begining process or starting my own business. Still making plans. Actually its 2 unrelated projects. I'm going to start a lawn and land scape service...........And I'm going to train coon hounds. Until my business really launches I may have to get a job.

 

Are you able to give us an up-date? Any closer to your dream?
