How To Get Spore Prints From Bought Mushrooms

I've heard that you don't have to buy a spore syringe and you can instead collect a spore print from a bought mushroom. This seems like it maybe true, but is it possible to get a spore print that can grow from already dry mushrooms? If so, how do I do this?

 

I could be qrong, but I think the answer is no. From what I recall, the mushroom has to be fresh, or it won't drop it's spores.

 

You may get a few spores from dried mushrooms, but it's not gonna be usable. Just get a syringe.
