without doing any research, I'd wager that he did not. He was a scientist first, he wasn't a counterculture-ite. He generally disapproved of lsd being used as the recreation that a lot of early hippies engaged in, so I'd assume he wasn't generally a fan of rec. drug use, but weed can be spiritual also, so idk. Leary used pot as a meditative tool, though.
I agree completely. I highly doubt he used marijuana. There's no need for marijuana with the quality LSD Albert Hofmann was doing anyway...
i'm gonna bet, no. maybe a few times to observe effects? but otherwise, no, i would guess he did not.
Aside from the fact that LSD has an initial 'wowness' factor that no amount of weed can touch, I'd say it's pretty pointless. For me it just makes trips 'drift' of course. I like to know where I'm at in a trip and see it through. I have my ways of using acid and inevitably Hoffie had his.. I can't see why he'd feel the need for a spliff lol.
does any one no if he ever smoked weed at all? it seems like he must have a few times to observe the effects but who knows
In his book "My Problem Child" he writes about his experience with other psychoactive drugs and hallucinogens such as different plants and mushrooms. My guess is that he has tried Cannabis sometime.
Well, Hoffman, as Grithor mentions, was into magic mushrooms, ingested extracts and tried to isolate Psilocybin, also went to Mexico and was interested in Salvia, as well as Morning Glory seeds, so I agree, chances are very likely that he smoked some herb.
