Does the USA understand the world? One question has been going through my mind Who do you think goes up to American troops in IRAK? People, do you rally think American soldiers are getting a good view of what people want or think in IRAK? Let me refresh some memories the War in Ira k is going on since the toppling of Saddam Hussein March of 2003 going on 3 years yet the country is struggling to form a government that makes any sense. A country where people went to the polls under the occupation of the USA. Where a civil war looms and where terrorist attacks are in the dozens a day. A country that entered a phase of lawlessness and deep insecurity and social collapse in the name of the security of the free world and democracy. Electricity is still in shambles the hospital system the schools university. Do you think things are normal, Improving, that people feel freer and more democratic, happier? That the troops understand what they are doing and the civilians share their heart songs with them? If your a Ira k mother of 5 children that have to go through 2 or 3 American road blocks or driving on a road where US troops are often seen? Do yo tell them to go and get chocolate bars with the friendly American troops or are you more concerned with anybody you know being associated with American troops. They tend to blow up you see in Ira k people think US soldiers what next? This war is far from over. When it will be over I have no doubt that relationships in the world will be strained. I don t foresee a healthy American Iraqi bond either. When the islamists really get their foot in the door as Islamic passions are vented for quite a few years. The voice of moderation seems to have been extinguished. That is what happens when a nonchalant US president looks at the world straight eyed and say I don`t care how many participated world round after a weekend where record breaking numbers of citizens world round took to the streets in peaceful demonstrations to stop the war yet he said I don t care how many demonstrations I will still wage war. In front of the obvious fact that Ira k posed absolutely no threat to anyone after the Kuwaiti fiasco and the war with IRAN. Going to IRAK wa like pissing on a wasps nest! And the same guy gets reelected! and so my question is Does the USA understand the world? Does the USA people understand the world? Does the USA governement and politicians understand understand the world?
how can a country that cant understand its own people ,, possibly understand any other countries of the world or their peoples
Yesterday a morning came, a smile upon your face. Caesar's palace, morning glory, silly human race, On a sailing ship to nowhere, leaving any place, If the summer change to winter, yours is no disgrace. Battleships confide in me and tell me where you are, Shining, flying, purple wolfhound, show me where you are, Lost in summer, morning, winter, travel very far, Lost in losing circumstances, that's just where you are. Yesterday a morning came, a smile upon your face. Caesar's palace, morning glory, silly human race, On a sailing ship to nowhere, leaving any place, If the summer change to winter, yours is no, Yours is no disgrace. Yours is no disgrace. Yours is no disgrace. Death defying, mutilated armies scatter the earth, Crawling out of dirty holes, their morals, their morals disappear. Yesterday a morning came, a smile upon your face. Caesar's palace, morning glory, silly human, silly human race, On a sailing ship to nowhere, leaving any place, If the summer change to winter, yours is no, Yours is no disgrace. Yours is no disgrace. Yours is no disgrace.
Should the question be does the goverment understand the world? We the people did not order the troops in but rather the goverment. Yeah cheap is not the word right now.
subconciously convincing america that we need cheap oil isn't cheap. It costs far more than is necessary to develop E-85 technology, which the Brazilians (a more democratic people) have employed for years. our big oil companies operate in collaboration with the oligopoly known as OPEC, so to them, cheap oil is necessary to reap profits.
the world's too complicated to understand, everyone's too occupied with the self. singling out america all the time is unfair, as america is not to blame for divisions in the world
no america really doesnt understand the world. all they understand is occult religious conspiracies, authority over all people, control of natural resources and labor. they forget that everybody wants a decent existence, and take it upon themselves to ruin other people's lives for their own.
Does the US understand the world?Simple answer NO!In this so called information age Americans have actually gotten more ignorant.I live half of the year in the UK and the average European teenager knows more about the world than most American adults will ever know.America aint what it used to be.
The USA tends to think its the World Police, that its just the greatest country ever and everyone should bow down and acknowledge it's greatness. The US doesn't want to see or understand what's going on, the US would much rather be in its own little world of greed and consumerism and ignorance.
The OP was made in 2006. A lot has altered since then. Maybe not the OP thoughts on the matter, true. But things have altered on the ground. I do remember feeling (in 2006) the shit was hitting the fan. Now, the situation has changed, we should acknowledge that. What the Iraqi people feel, is as any countries populace, varying. 'Does the USA understand the world?' Yes, a lot more than somebody who spells Iraq as Irak I can confidently say they understand the world more than anybody here. 'Does the USA people understand the world?' Like any country, the people are insular and not. So, ofcourse US people understand the world and some don't. Everybody there? Good god no. But, they are not alone. 'Does the USA government and politicians understand understand the world?' I can confidently say that they understand the world more than we do. The fact that they don't follow all our opinions, is here nor there. That is what this whole thread seems to be about. Disagreement of decisions made.
If the US government has a better understanding of the world than anybody here, doesnt that prove there evil? I mean if all the horrible things there doing are not mistakes (IE Iraq) then they MUST be evil!
Oh, the government knows EXACTLY what is going on, and what they're doing... that's the bad part. They know all too well how people work, and they have us all under their control like puppets on a string.
You may think Iraq is a horrible mistake. You may think they are evil. That does not mean they are evil. Like I said, it : The fact that they don't follow all our opinions, is here nor there. That is what this whole thread seems to be about. Disagreement of decisions made. It was a little cavalier of me to say: The fact that they don't follow all our opinions, is here nor there... As our opinions should count. What I meant was every person has to make a choice, including the presindent of the U.S.A . The fact that you may disagree with him is what a free open society is all about. There are many many Iraqi quite happy that 'liberated' , and there lives are slowly returning to a much more civilised free society. Sadly at a very high cost. Even keeping in mind the negative narrative Alter-Reality suggests. They still understand the world more than we do. We just may not agree with them.

This administration totally understand the rest of the world and their goal is to manipulate it and gain control of any resources they feel are valuable. And they are expert at marketing their agenda to the masses in the form of promises of security and patriotism. And most of the US citizens are too busy shopping to notice they're being used. Maybe now that they won't have disposable income to use for recreational shopping, they focus on the fact that they have been used for the benefit of a few.
