Israel could not exist without the US, and if you look at some of the people high within the Bush cabinet (and working closely with the Bush cabinet), you'll see they are dual citizens of the US and Israel. One such person is Michael Chertoff, whose mother played a leading role in the creation of the Israeli Mossad.
