I found out today that one of my expressive arts projects has been thrown away. OK...it doesn't sound like such a big deal. However, the work I did covered a wall space of about 7 foot by 3 foot, and I filled two exercise books with writing about it. Of course, the art exhibition is much more important than a project I spent four months on so all my work got ripped down and chucked away. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
That's really shit. I know how you feel, I'm still pining after a painting that disappeared in an exhibition when I was eleven, heartless bastards!!!
I remember when I was about 15 I took an old electric guitar apart, I labelled all the parts and sanded off the paint, I filled any chips it had, sanded it again and started to carefully paint it and laqcuer it. Then one day I came home to find it had gone. When I asked why, I got told "Oh I threw it away. I saw it was broken and thought you didn't want it anymore". 21 years later and I still remember all the weeks of hard work I put into it.
The other night in the pub, I bought a packet of honey-roasted peanuts. I put them down on the table and turned to espousing one of my new theories about covalent ethene polymerisation. When I turned back to enjoy the peanuts, I found they had all been eaten. That's terrible Bob. And Paul.
Yeh, I did a piece with a naked jesus with a fish tail and branches for arms and breasts etc... I loved it but my art teacher said it was disgusting... then it mysteriously disappeared from the art room I think she threw it away cos she was a closed minded fool Bugger! It still pisses me off I know how you feel bud! Love Clairexxx
There was one piece of GSCE artwork I wanted back and it was the only one I never got back. Traffic cone on castors. Not art, but fun to kick around. I reckon it's still in the staffroom.
ahh.. i loved doin art when i was at school.. we had a great studio and som eccentric teachers.. was like a free space... actualloy that was the only thng i likd about school.. i was so eager to get out free and away from there tho.. that i forgot about my display until a few months or so... then when i went back for it absolutley everything that id done had vanishd... not so suprising tho... since most the people there seemd to have som great pleasure in destroyin art .. was happy enough that it remained unharmed enough to last 2 weeks till the marking
one time someone pushed and they didnt apologise, this little went wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee all the way to my happy home. still though throwing it away, you should have came up with a witty reply
thats so annoying...i would hate it if that ever happend to me. people should be more thoughtful and careful with what they throw away! xxxx
That's a shame they should try and appreciate the hard work you put into these things! The same thing happened to my friend, who asked if she could keep some of her project work for her portfolio, they agreed but she never got it back
