Living in Boulder, CO, I'm often confronted with a beautiful, interested girl who is annoyingly liberal. Now, I know that this word has a lot of baggage to it - liberal can mean a lot of things - so I'll give you an example. I’m at my coffeeshop and a girl sits down across from me. A big-eyed dark skinned latina beauty, with a hand-woven skarf and a mystical, self-assured gaze. We get to talking and start flirting but it’s destied to go nowhere because I have to dance around subjects that would doubtlessly offend her if spoken of. She tells me that the word “hispanic” is insulting, even though I obviously meant to harm by it, and openly declares how progressive she is. At one point, after I made a comment suggesting that I want to be an entrepreneur, she winces and asks me if I am a Saggitarius. I have been asked my sign buy so many women and every time it just makes them look childish in my eyes. If I wanted a challenge I could probably play along and tell her I’m part of the gay/straight alliance, I believe the world will end in 2012 or Ward Churchil is my hero but that would get old real fast.

But man, it isn’t easy refusing such a challenge when such a natural beauty starts hitting on you. Any commiserators?

hmmm not a commiserator but you're bound to find someone whose not too "liberal" for you. I would say start pulling really fundamentalist stuff out of your ass and get them flustered. The good thing about this "faux" argument/debate is that you could see how passionate she was and then just turn it into a joke/tell her you were kidding or something.

    You never know!
