Whats the difference between codeine, hydrocodone and oxycodone? how much of these cough medicines do i need to drink to get fucked up? say ive got codeine and oxycodone, are they good to mix? What are some things i should look out for as far as other additives, for example what if guafenesine is also included?
1. All three drugs you mentioned come from the opium poppy. The differences are basically that they're different compounds found in the same plant, but have slightly different effects on the body. Codeine is the weakest of the three and more likely to cause nausea, hydrocodone is stronger and contains both codeine and thebaine, another opiate, and oxy is the strongest of the three. 2. That all depends on your weight, tolerance, sensitivity to opiates, and many other factors. Some people react very negatively to these meds and don't get fucked up at all (at least not in a good way), but experience itching, vomiting, and other side effects, so...I really can't answer that. 3. Never done oxy, but I'd advise caution with dosage if you're mixing stuff. Start slowly, give it time to kick in, and increase dosage accordingly if at all. You can always increase the dose, but can't go back and decrease what you've already taken, so sip cautiously. 4. These additives are usually added to keep people from overdosing. They can cause illness if taken in high doses, which discourages high dosing. Commonly added ingredients include guaifenisen, chlorpheniramine, promethazine and other antihistamines/decongestants. Check the ingredients in YOUR syrup and do a quick search on side effects, both for the syrup as a whole and for individual ingredients.
hydrocodone and oxycodone arent found in the opium plant. theyre both semi-synthesized from thebaine which is naturally occuring. hydrocodone does not contain codeine or thebaine.
No, they don't come DIRECTLY from the opium poppy, but are a mixture of various synthesized compounds from the same plant. Or something like that...
i dont think theirs an oxycodone syrup... oxycodone is so potent they wont added to syrups prescribed for cough, dunno i might be wrong. oxys n hydros r semi synthetic, codeine is natural.
like others said in terms of potency it goes codeine than hydrocodone, than oxy being the most. id say probably a couple times the recommend dose on the bottle would be a good time. and its always best to avoid additives but that being said guafisene isnt to bad for u but will make a considerable amount of nausea if the dose is to high.
