I'm interested in trying Salvia. From what I hear the smoking experience is not entirely pleasurable, and it sounds a little bit too intense for what I'd like to try.

I've heard that simply chewing on Salvia leaves (as opposed to extracts) can produce a psychedelic effect that's significantly less intense than smoking. Has anyone tried this, or can someone provide me with more information about it?

I have never tried chewing, but from what I've read that was the method the shamans used for centuries for divination. Smoking can defineately be an "intense" experience and it depends entirely on the person how they react. Some people are scared, some just confused and some, like myself, find it a very personal and introspective experience. It is classified as an "entheogen", meaning literally an inner God experience. If it is your first time, I would suggest to try the chewing and if it works for you perhaps try smoking, but if you smoke a sitter is a very good idea. Good luck and happy traveling!

Honestly, salvia is not that intense. I've smoked all sorts of the different potencys.. 5x, 10x, 20x, ect. and they're not that bad. You just feel disoriented and super giggly. Its fun and doesnt last long at all. Way to over priced though :( But never heard of chewing it.

Anyways, its fun.. try it out. :) goodluck

I have only done it once so far and giggly seems like something Salvia would not do, but I could be wrong, not saying it couldn't.

My friends and I hit some out of a bong over some weed, and it kept us laughing out asses off for 10 minutes, so hard that we could hardly breathe; maybe it was from smoking already, but I'm sure everyone gets affected differently.

Ya, it's definitely something it does. Even though I've only smoked it twice, I was cracking up for most of the time But then I felt very weird all over my body, like I had some heightened sense of gravity. I felt like I was being pulled out of my skin, and I felt really clammy all over. I remember wanting to take a shower when it was wearing off, because it made me feel so weird.

It kind of sucked at times because I like to chill and salvia was freaking me out, but it was fun when we were all laughing hysterically over nothing.

That shit is a trip, words don't come close to explaining it, its so many things at once in something other then time. It was like eternity crunched into now with speed on its tail.

I think I will chew it rather than smoke it this time to see what it does, I wonder how much I should chew. I have a little under a gram left.

Chewing is just gross...ive tried chewing fresh leaves, they are so bad that its hard to keep them down, and the taste lasts for 24 hours!!! I cant imagine chewing extracts would be any easier. I kinda like the taste of the smoke, i quess the only downside to chewing is no smoke in your lungs, therefor no change of damige.
