Hey I got my bottom lip piercied a little under 48 hours ago. An the side of my lip that I got pierced is swelled up like would be expected. But I was wondering how long does the swelling last because I thought it looked alot cooler than it does now with a fat lip.

    Depends on the person,
usually 2 or 3 days after getting pierced but it can last up to 10 days.
I don't remember my labret piercing being swollen for very long AT all.

Its a wound. It swells like most other wounds, and the duration varies from person to person. If you've had a fat lip, this will give you a good idea of the time.

Anyway, it wouldn't be more the a few days I suspect. Take some Advil if it get uncomfortable, but otherwise, salt soak it and leave it alone.

    Cheers.

mine swelled like a bitch and stayed that way for about 4 or 5 days. of course, i hit a vein (actually, i'm pretty sure i knicked the artery dammit) and it bled like a bitch whose been gangraped... so it swelled and got all bruised and looked REALLY ugly for a while. but then it calmed down and looks kickass now.

mine was swollen for two days or so. what really really helps is to make chamomile tea and hold the hot teabag on your piercing. drink the tea too. it has anti-inflammatory properties.
