I want to plant my clones in the ground. What do I need to do to the soil?

I have clones about 4 inches tall in a 2*2 container. I would like to plant them in the ground soon. I am not sure if I need to make a soil mix and mix it into the dirt or do I put it on top? How deep should I loosen the dirt in the ground? I also am not sure of a good mixture to use for outdoor plants.

Adding a soil mix would be ideal but if you've found a nice spot where the soil is good and supports lush natural vegetation then why not just use that. If transporting your own soil mix is not an option then maybe just add 'dry' soil ammendmants like chicken manure pellets, fish, blood and bone, calcified seaweed (just a bit), wood ash, and maybe perlite and vermiculite which is lightweight in big bags for conditioning the soil. ... if needed.
If you wanna add soil/compost then just try and find something with lots of good natural goodness (worm castings, well rotted shit and leaves and stuff), if adding animal manures make sure they are very well rotted down and don't use too mutch of it because unrotted manures can burn plants.
