At What Price Is A Wasted Life
    By: Mi Kali D.
    On the edge of oblivion
    Before me the unwavering
    Truth is spoken in doldrums
    Beating in my brains
    Like a mamba gone awry.

    All in time chaotically placed
    Memorizing and terrifying
    Jumbled in madness
We may never come to understand
    The axiom.

    Choices given, choices squandered
Regret and panting after lost choices
    Throws equalibrium into a spiral
    Propelling us away further
    From another chance.

    Luck is a fantasy
    Created by drunks
To combat their accusing mind, their flailing demeanor
To steal peace amidst the tourtured mind.

    What price must be paid
    Action taken, action ceased,
    What planetary alignment
    Or what wind blows
To make life more tolerable, comfortable, placid, again.

    Is it all over-rated
Life is a gift-wrapped empty package
    The sugar after the medicine
Or is it just a means of prolonging the pain.
