What I HATE about certain Christians

Well, I don't find petty name-calling, repetitive posting nor a refusal to address the points of view offered by others in a discussion, particularly interesting. In fact, all of those attributes are what brings this forum down to elementary school level.

 

Hey SelfControl,

After painstakingly reading through fed up and wbld's ignorant scape goat of an argument. Iv only really got one thing to say. I am a firm believer in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and my faith is not only based on our "book of lies and fuzzy feel good feelings" but something much deeper, and that is personal experience, historical fact, and the general revelation God has shown through creation. I commend you SelfControl for the...well self control you have in talking to them, even in there ignorance,and this should show that REAL Christans are not sheltering from reality, but there is a real substance there and that you really do care. Our non-christains here with no foundation of faith are fickle in their arguments and explanations and would not convince a young child that they were correct.

One thing i dont believe is mentioned in that article is that there is no literature from the time of christ the disputes the bible. Gnostic scripts and other "missing books" and what have you were not written till 100 years and upwards from the time of the resurrection.

fed up and wbld, i challenge you to educate yourself a little more on what you are trying to argue instead of just regurgitating and being "sheeple" yourselves by using arguments and attacks used by every other person who resents or denies christianity. Please dont take any of this as a cut on you, this is a discussion. I want you to know that I honestly will be praying for the both of you, however you want to take that is up to you.

 

Im curious FedUp, what event or moment in your life did you decide it was all a bunch or B.S.

 

I and others have taken the time to list and refute your claims in other threads and you simply dismiss them, your word is not fact as you would like to make it seem.

 

With his obstinacy, contempt to other people's beliefs, blind confidence in his own correctness instead, FedUpAmerican reminds me of those certain christians with similar qualities. That's what I hate about them, you see it's not only christians.

Why would you hold people accountable for the actions of others? Because they share a theology based on the same book?

ALL people are different, i firmly believe and have experenced people with the same qualities mentioned from almost every walk of life and supporting any ideal under the sun.

 

hmm, i would have to agree...to an extent. I have many of the same problems with people whom claim to be "christains." There are many valid arguments against the nature of many whom claim to follow christ, and many more against the mojority of churches from my experience (espeicially the vatican, jesuits, and other catholic like sects.) Even in the bible we see Jesus getting upset at the church of the day because they claimed his name and to do works in his name, but they themselves were blasphemers, peddlers of Gods money, and hypocrites. All those claiming Christ ARE NOT THE SAME. Being born in American and having and ancestry whom claims Christ in no right make someone a christain. It is NOT a religion, we are NOT religious in the sense of the catholic church that just goes through the motions and say the same meaningless prayers and just hope they are good enough to be accepted into heaven, It is a commitment and a way of life. Seriously, I am just as frustrated as you are with
"christains." Think of your resent toward them and understand how upset i must be that people see the way "christains" live and automatically assume that this is the norm. Actually i guess it is the norm, but I do not view such "christains" as my brothers.

 

; ) haha well thank you. I can say i honestly understand people having difficulty in believing and/or accepting. Iv had dozens upon dozens of civil conversations with peoples of different religious beliefs and atheists so iv heard just about every sides issues with christainity. It is not something eaisly believed for what it truely is in this day and age and especially with all the mis teachings, misinterpretations, and false claims of what the bible stands for in the church today. I have had my own struggles and questions with the bible in my short time on this earth, but when you REALLY seek out God and seek the truth and pray for him to make things clear, he is faithful. I dont know whether you believe in a higher being, a creator, or whatever it may be, but i assure you, if you had the chance face to face to ask, hed be just as (actually more) livid at "Christians" than you are

 

I also believe he would be very angry with current state of the church and actions done throughout history in the name of God.

 

Especially now with this B.S. war in the name of God against the "Evil Terrorists." Kindda off topic but im going with it. Our's and other major Governments are the terrorists. 911 was a cover up and staged by US. Bush, ya he sucks, republicant and democrap parties suck, they are all a ploy, a puppet if you will to confuse and brainwash the masses from who and what is really running this world. You think our state of affairs is bad...well let me tell you fact is much stranger than fiction. Soon all freedom will be gone in the name of national security and there WILL be a one world governemnt and the sovereignty of this country and every other will be gone.

 

And you just expect others to accept that? You expect us to believe that you're playing a caricature, but that you're innately able to tell that we aren't?

 

SelfControl, I admire your passion and desire for others to understand, but you go about it wrong. even if you feel you are being grossly attacked and want to convert someone, by being an ass back you do more damage for Gods kingdom than by saying nothing at all. Our Bible tells us we cant judge others the same way we would a believer because they do not live by the same standards. Show love even when submersed by hatred all around.

 

Meh, I've literally only just started being a dick back. I'm also not a Christian and FedUp knows it, so he'd have to be pretty stupid to let it change his opinion of Christianity. Not that it would.

It's pretty obvious that FedUp doesn't feel obliged to be any better than he thinks Christians are.
