What are the disadvantages of using a motorcycle as you only mode of transportation?

Up weather aside... uh... If I crashed I would be much more likely to spill some brains.

Advantages are, the babes.

 

Big huge Texas sized pick-ups running my ass over. lol its bad enough driving a honda and almost getting run over on a weekly basis.

 

Bikes are a lot harder to drive while drunk.

 

flipping insurance rates.

 

and them japs make some ugly coloured bikes.

 

I just pay liability, and it's almost nothing.

besides the rain, which is a pain in the ass for sure....

getting run over by big vehicles (although idk if they have such big vehicles everywhere in thailand... here you're constantly in danger of being extincted by a 16 year old driving a hummer while talking on the cell)...

dying, when your bike decides to crash itself. brains flying out all over the road is generally a bad idea, as is losing every piece of skin on your body. ugh... i love motorcycles, but i've seen such bad bike accidents....

 

When I was driving a couple of days ago there was this idiot behind me in a 4WDwho overtook me and then the car in font of me on approaching corner, and a double lane, just as a group of bikers were turning the corner. Another 3-4 seconds and the idiot would have cleaned them all up. Theres a disadvantage.

Well yeah, I'm gettig wet. The traffic over here is a bit mental but it feels safer to drive a motorcycle here 'cos at least the other people on the road are aware that you exist.

 

Saw a ~55 year old guy in a nice suit on a vespa esque scooter around here a few weeks ago... the smug look on his face combined with the suburban area (he had a ways to go wherever he was going in a suit).... was pretty hilarious

Not the route I would take, if its gotta be 2 wheels I'd rather pedal.

 

it would be a bitch to bring home your new couch on a bike...

or the groceries for that matter, unless you have one of those funny little trailors...

wearing a helmet is uncomfortable and not wearing one is unsafe. lose-lose.

but do you ride a motorcycle, or a scooter? I love zipping around on scooters in Thailand, but I imagine an actual motorcycle would do as good a job of extending one's penis down there as a ferrari would in a western country.
