ive heard that the stomach flu virus can only live outside the body for four hours. is this true? obviously there are countless stomach flu viruses. but ive heard its different from a cold or something where you catch it from someone and feel it a week later. someone told me that if youve cought the stomach flu then you will be puking within the next four hours

so i know yall arent doctors, but ive wondering if any of you have heard the same thing, or heard the contrary. id like to know

    im being paranoid

    I have no idea.

Did you do a search on it online? That's how I find out just about everything. :)

Theres no such thing as a stomach flu. It's not related to influenza. (the flu)

Most of the causes of the stomach flu are viral, and in such cases cannot live without a host. A much smaller time frame then four hours. Less then four minutes.

usually to get those real nasty vomit/uncontrollable shitting viruses you have to have faecal-oral infection. so just wash your hands a lot... and dont touch your mouth with your fingers.

    colds are respiratory infectors.

like already said, viruses can't live long without a host... but that doesn't mean as soon as you catch a virus you'll feel it. it will stay in your body for a bit organizing its attack first, then once it has actually done significant damage you will start to feel it.

on top of what lode said, another common cause of "stomach flu" is food poisoning...
