Trey will make his debut appearance at the Newport Folk Festival on Saturday August 2nd as part of the 49th annual festival in Newport, RI. i am stoked. there will a lot of haters on the acoustic set. but i love trey in that setting. i hope he does another 99 style tour....1 set acoutic, 1 set electric. those shows were amazing!

 

Yea.. you never know the politics and/or logistics of these things.(although plenty of jacks on PT would like to think they do) .....

This could have been a last minute booking and the rest of the band (whoever they are) wasn't available thus the acoustic. Or maybe Trey needs to clear the pipes alone first before plugging in.. etc etc.....

So much ridiculous second guessing and people blabbing about crap they have no idea like they do on other forums it gets silly.

I say sit back, wait for official announcements and enjoy. Or shut the fu%$ up about it...

well its the folk festival, so i don't think they would have wanted his 10 piece band to play. but i am stoked to hear some new acoustic trey. we will hopefully get trey acoustic classics like...billy breathes, pebbles and marbles, dirt, farmhouse.....etc
then we can hear the newer ones he's been doing from his new stuff. should be a good show.
fuck the PT haters.....that is the most ignorant board on the planet. i have never encountered such blatant racism and bigotry as i have on the PT board. there seems to be more and more conservative-McCainian douche bags on that site

 

A. What's the PT board?

B. That Trey is actually getting out and playing in front of audiences that aren't selected (like his "concerts" with the rehab groups) is a huge step. Good for him!

its an old phish phan website. these days it is over run with douche bags. they all seem to be 13 year old kids or 38 year old kids
many seem to be republican, which is odd. all they do is bitch and moan about post hiatus Phish. if you only saw them post hiatus and you pose an opinion about a show they will say "too bad you never saw the real Phish dude!"
to them no post hiatus tune or version of a song can be a "best of".....its sad. they are mostly losers. there are a few nice people, but there general crowd sucks. if thats what the actual phish scene was like, i would never claim to be apart of it

It's a shame really.
It is SOOO filled with ignorance and single digit mannerisms I feel bad for anyone getting into Phish recently that might stumble upon it thinking they have found 'the scene.'

 

I agree about the phish pt board 100% I love phish & have for the past 12 years now. in fact until 2004 I thought they were the only band on the planet. (thank god I expanded my horizons) Phish is still the phav but everytime I go onto the phish board the ignorance makes me sick to my stomach. Its amazing the things people will say when they are hiding behind an alias, typing on a keyboard thousands of miles away.

Its weird too because the folks on the cheese board are some of the coolest/nicest people i have ever met in my life. (well ok there are even some trolls on there too but not nearly as bad) Is there really that much of a disparity between the two scenes phans?

It's weird that you can see such a difference between that sewer of a Phish PT board and the Trey PT board also. The Trey board still gets a little hostile at times but man, nothing like the dregs that hang out on the Phish side.
