I'm sorry to hear this, Freight Train. How's your Mom? Is this your first auto accident? They are awesome, no doubt... but time will make it a memory, and your bruises will heal. Until then, you'll have that picture in your mind's eye of rolling and rolling and rolling. Out-a-sight!

I hope you're OK, man and your mom, too. Accidents are freaky, but if you're careful they don't happen all too often. [IMG]

Sweetie, I know when something happens like this you want to go the other way and never take a chance again, but your braver than that, you knew there were accidents that happened before you had yours, and you still were brave enough to get in a car.

Life is a big crap shoot everyday, but all you can do is your best.
Don't let one thing like this ruin what you're doing....all things must pass.
    Glad you're ok.

Hey little bro, sorry to hear about the accident, but that does happen, especially with deer running out in front of you. This is a part of driving you will have to face everytime you get behind the wheel.Don't let that stop you from driving. This is just another part of life.

No one was seriously hurt. I came within 6" of hitting a deer that ran in front of my car last winter. And several weeks ago a yearling ran out of the woods and right into my car as I was returning home from work at 12:30 in the morning..:(

    Joshua,
Considering the fact you have been involved in a near fatal accident and you still have many many, years ahead of you driving Old Betsy. I think it would be wise for you to study defensive driving technics. As they apply to the unique abilities of a 50 year old Chevrolet that has not has its suspension and brake system rebuilt. Also, please remember, the stoping distance for your car will be almost double that of a modern car at 50 MPH.

    PEace,

me and my mom are fine. see she was in a fatal car wreck when she was a little irl and she was paranoid. then about 8 years ago ( i was with them ) my parents and i were driving down a old highway and a cow was in the road. it was foggy outside. and it was january ( didnt snow that year. ) and my mom ahd to go to the hospital for a sprained neck.and this. so i konw how it is. if it was me behind the wheel i would have done the same thing. swerve because if the deer comes over hte hood it could crush us. if it were my car i would for it. the hood would be dented ( can be poped out ), need a new windshield and we would have free meat for dinner! but i dont trust newer autos. they need all these safety devices to make people feel safe. but older autos didnt the body was the safety device. i woulnt sweat it with old betsy. if she is bruised ( dented ) i can just get some presure behind the frame and pop it back out. ( cant do that wiht fiberglass! )

    Peace,

i am fine. we got a new auto. my car needs a new gas tank. besides that i can drive her. but she needs work to be road worthy/safe. ( new rear leaf springs, backup light rebuild kit, stop light houser and rebuild kit, grille & grille bar, and putting allt he parts back on. ) about $1,000 for all work to be done to be road worthy.
