Good idea - money off for fatties if they buy veg and such, money added on if they buy chips and burgers and greasy crap.

Oh, and mcDonalds has nothing worthwhile, so while we're blue-skying, shut the fucking place down. Permamently. Worldwide. With extreme prejudice.

Great idea, just put a scale at the checkout. If the person is over a certain BMI, a really loud alarm can go off...Then the fat police will come and escort them to the fat farm.

Really though, a tax on junk food (much like cigarettes) isn't a bad idea.

well there is no tax on a lot of food...

but if there was, the fatties would pay more of it by default, since they buy more food...

fuck no. other people dont get to tell me what to eat, nor shoudl the government. if i choose to indulge now and then in something greasy (like, at most once a month these days, usually far less than that), fuck them. foods already expensive enough and im bloody well broke (or close to it)

I have a couple friends who are so heavy that they need two airline seats. I think the airlines charge you twice for that.

They are. They buy more food, therefor, they pay more taxes.

taxing in an effort to keep people from buying a product or whatever is pretty dubious, if you ask me. especially on things like alcohol, tobacco and fuel. those things are very overpriced (overtaxed) here, but people still want them enough to pay more. junk food is probably a little different, and such a tax could help long-term, but I think people would mostly just grudgingly spend the extra cash.

I dont really think they should tax fat people. Im just making funny.. I really dont think people should be discrimnated against.. But black fat people should sit on the back of the bus in the winter time for the bus to get better traction..:)

That suggestion is going to generate a lot of friction.
