@Hiptastic, Bush senior actually had a better reason to "invade" iraq but he was smarter about it. People called him a fool for not pushing into Iraq and finishing Saddam, now we know why. He learned from Vietnam, GW Bush didn't.
@Stonie, you also know about the cold war I assume. I war we used others to fight for us so it didn't end up in a nuclear holocaust, Osama being one of them. We want control of the areas' oil, it has nothing to do with terrorism or democracy. Isreal wants our help in controlling them sure they have property issues. Why should they pay to police their own area when the US and the world can do it for them. They can continue their property grabs, and the arabs that own the land are seen as terrorists. It's a win/win for them.

If you are historically well read you can't deny that we helped build up Sadaam and Bin Laden, not to mention Noriega. Who did we sell the canal to after the loss of life in Panama, and why did we release control, I'll always have a hard time understanding that.
