Would you quit smoking weed if your new bf/gf wanted you to?

My friend just quit for his new girlfriend and I was really thinking about if I would do the same. I don't know if I would. Would you?

People try to change who their partner is much too often in relationships.

 

personally i would not date anyone that wont allow me to be myself, and i think alot of other people would agree. i mean theres a line between her trying to help me with a drug problem and just trying to make me conform. i dont have a drug problem, and its not hurting me or her, so I dont see why i would have to change. with heroin it would probably be different.

Other than dependency, there really is no good reason why your gf/bf would want you to quit smoking.

If it's about health, well... it's my body... right? Do you own your gf/bf?

I don't exactly understand what they can't accept about it. What part of pot use are they going against? The laughing? The Chattiness? The increase in libido? Sleepiness? Health issues? (eat or use vaporizer). Other than ignorance, I just don't see a valid reason that warrants you to ask your partner to change.

This makes no sense to me.

HELL no. If I was to stop smoking weed, for good, it would be because I wanted to. I would never quit for anyone besides myself. Well, actually, I wouldn't quit for myself either. haha I don't see it happening for any reason.....ever. I'll be smoking blunts on my deathbed, if I am able:spliff:

One of my best friends who was one of my favorite smoking buddies, and one of the very few people I actually loved smoking with because he doesn't get all stupid when he's high had this happen to him. About a year ago he got a new girlfriend and right from the bat she was like "I don't want you to smoke because its illegal and I don't want it where I live" Mind you she lived in HIS apartment which he 100% paid for. They were blinded by the lovey dovey high school crush type emotions for the first few months of the relationship. You know how it is you will put up with alot more BS from a person then once you get comfortable with them you kind of start to let them know more and more what bothers you. So in otherwords he kept smoking without too much confrontation for the first 5-6 months of their relationship.

Well anyways pretty recently my buddy was forced to quit smoking for a couple months in preparation for a pee test for a new job. He made a comment to me while I was visiting him one day where he goes "I cant wait till I pee in that cup so I can spark up a fat blunt and just get baked all day to celebrate." When all of a sudden his girlfriend comes storming out of their office room and goes "You damn well better not" Then she proceeded on and said how if he starts smoking again she's going to leave him and every now and again call the cops to anonymously report the smell of pot coming from his apartment, which before they were together any time you went over there you could smell pot and all of his stuff would be out on the table. So yeah short of dumping her and moving (which isn't going to happen) he pretty much has to be like a 15 yr old kid hiding his pot smoking from their mother.

Moral of the story don't change who you are for some sex.

 

Fuck no I wouldn't quit, if they dealt with it long enough for us to get together, they can deal with it while we're dating. I'm not changing for anybody.
