In the 60's was it seriously how people portray it? Was everyone really as free minded and free spirited as they put in books or documentaries? If it was then why can't we just begin another revolution like that. It seems like these days people have sticks up their asses.
People were more optimistic then. It was easier to believe that problems that had always existed could be solved. Now it seems that disasters that have never happened before - like greenhouse warming - might happen.
