Hi, I have been a vegetarian all my life (18 years) because my parents have been vegetarian from before i was born. Not once have i met a single vegetarian (not inc my parents) so im quite surprised to see a few here. Was wondering how many ppl here are non meat eaters ?
hmmmm......veg*n guys are hot, eventhough I never saw one before...lol. But you're lucky to have grown up with vegetarian parents, we all envy(sp?) you! A study has shown that only 4% of the world's population are veg*n (but it's obviously starting to increse...thank god.). also, there's are forums dedicated to only veg*ns alone. It's : www.veggieboards.com/boards I hope you like your stay at hip forums!!
I'm pretty sure the majority here are veg*an or at least thinking about it. Otherwise why else would we be here? It's cool that you are a life veggie. Kind of wish I was one, but in a way am glad not to be, that way it was totally my choice. So yes I'm a vegetarian, and aspiring vegan. My roomate Casey (see sig ) is already vegan.
hey! whoa, it's surprising that you've never met any other veg*ns, most of my friends are. I'm lacto-vegetarian, working on getting rid of the lactose... I'm trying uber hard to be vegan, I just can't stop eating freakin cream cheese!!
it would seem i am a lacto-vegetarian tho i have no hope getting rid of cheese myself im always sneaking in the fridge to "steal" a cheese slice
I would have made the switch already, but my mother is really against it, she thinks that eggs and milk have tons of protein and blah blah, growing boy, you know.
Laughs at intheflash's post, I don't know why,but it sound funny... I'm ovo-lacto, some of the food I eat has egg and milk products in it. Especially the yoghurt and creamed chees is what I can't get rid of ( chocolate too...lol). Sage phoenix, your bunny's cute! *hugs her* I believe she was a natural at becoming a vegan!
Seriously, never? Are veggies that rare in Australia, or is it just the very place in which you live (just curious)? Anyway, I've been a veg*n for 7 years, vegan for 5. I think about 1 in 8 people in my age group here in Sweden are veg*ns (i.e. some kind of non meat eater). peace, -Pat
My whole family is veggie, too, but we've all converted over the years. My sister started it way before the rest of us. She was the Lisa Simpson of the family. I think she planted the seed for the rest of us. When I was a kid, we all ate meat. Now our Thanksgiving table features a tofurkey. My stepdad will very occasionally eat fish, because he is a cancer survivor and he believes that some of the fish oils are cancer fighters.
A bit after I went vegetarian my best friend went veggie, and then his friend went veggie. I did something cool!
seriously lol.... i live only 30 mins from brisbane city (watches everyone pull their australian maps out) so im not in some remote locaction lol though i've been assued that there are quite a few down here i've just not met them yet doh ! lol
