I am curious. How did the first post year of college go for you? Not to single some folks out...but...just wanted to hear from the grad students. I was planning on a. writing a book about said college experience b. honing my cooking skills c. trying to work on a local organic farm d. travel e. learning a new lagugage (will likely take language courses too) A few of those will get done in the coming months, to varying extents so talk about your post grad experience. jobs, fun, feelings, etc. I would like to know.
You're lucky to have so many options! I got a job as fast as I could. I was flat broke and could barely manage to scrape through the last few months of school. It was a cool job, doing environmental work. Actually, I was lucky that I found a job whan I did since my husband (then my bf) got laid off the next week-his job got exported to Asia. I had a kid before I started college, so I couldn't goof off much back then. Congrats on finishing school and enjoy!
I moved to Nevada to get married and now work as a behavioralist for kiddies. I worked through school and studied abroad during it and had to learn a forgein language as a graduation requirement. I am starting my Master's in August of 09 in Family Therapy and then am going to transfer and get my doctorate. I suggest culinary arts school...that would be freaking awesome.
yah, than I could become a world famous chef, make millions, fly a hundred or so of you kind folks out somewhere and cook for you and bring lots of great ales to taste test and get drunk on. heh heh back to reality. I do hope some of those get done. It is fairly easy, nothing to complicated. Maybe A will be the hardest. E. (Language) will get done even if it is a few minutes a week. I am scared about finding a job. and loans (and search for loan forgiveness programs).
ive been out for a couple weeks only, still job hunting >.> fucking job hunting sucks last i checked, any culinary school actually worth attending was hella expensive. but that was like 6 years ago, things could easily have changed since then
you could get more student loans go to le corden bleu and learn french while going to culinary school? mmmm, yes, please do not forget about us little people. Andy's going to school for brewing after he retires in 10 years and hopefully we will be opening a gastro resturaunt/micro-brew pub. You could be our celebrity guest chef.
Me? I had a quarter life crisis and did almost nothing with my life. After 18 months of this, I said fuck it and got in my car and drove to colorado without employment, residence, or any friends here. Four months and still going strong
i've never finished anything in my life. and the only thing i ever will is living. (it might be fun to not ever finish that too, but it seems this might be beyond my options to choose, at least in the sense of THIS life anyway, but you know, i don't even know even that, not really, only that it appears not to be probable.) =^^= .../\...
I got a job, I got net connection at home, I got myself plenty of new clothes, I read a lot... That's what I'm actually still doing now. This is my first year after finishing my MA and everything.
Hmm well I quite working for Intermec and went to work for Microsoft, bought a house, and i guess that was the highlights.
i kept the same job i had during school (delivering pizzas) because i'm too lazy to look for something better. i gave up my daily drinking habit. ironically, i got a DUI about 5 months later, so i had to quit delivering pizzas and was thus made an assistant manager. meh, that pretty much sums up the major events of the year...
I flirted with the idea of teaching and took some continuing ed classes. I flirted with a woman too and moved in with her for two years. That turned to suck and I hated substituting, I worked for nothing at a newspaper and I started shooting weddings and even tried to open my own business for a while untill I got taxed to death last year. It's now 4 years since I graduated and I landed a job as a catalog photographer that I love and I have more time for my band which is doing fairly well.
