Stoners who do well in school:

So many people here are basically saying that if you finish high school, then you'll have a lot of money when you grow up because you'll get a good job, salary, etc...
But the thing is, I don't want money. I want to be happy and I know for a fact that money does not make you happy which is probably the biggest misconception in our society.
I've been finding myself less and less motivated to go to school and do well lately. Up until this year of high school, I always got good grades and never had problems with teachers. Lately, however, I've been finding myself getting very pissed off at a lot of teachers who are just dicks. Today I walked out of class because one of my teachers refused to sign a hall pass so I could take a piss. What an asshole.

 

thc mdma lsd psilocybin dmt alcohol etc etc are all the usuals for me and ive got As and Bs in honors and AP classes. it doesnt matter what you do or how you do it. Either way you only succeed in what you want to accomplish. and if you find high school to be absolutely pointless, then what you get out of it will be absolutely pointless. Either change your attitude towards highschool and apply yourself, or in the end it will be an absolute waste of 4 years, leading to an absolute waste of many more years to come (that is if your looking for big money & a professional career. Not that all of us want that).

I for one, up until 8th grade got only half decent grades. Until one night i decided to smoke before i did my homework. and fromt that point on my outlook on school changed considerably. i learned to adapt to working while stoned and school was 1200 times easier and more bareable. Although i only really enjoyed subjects i was interested in.

But recently i got busted for ganja and can no longer smoke until next february which is driving me absolutely chaotic. i have come to re-hate school's absolute facist oppression ( even though i still get good grades) and it lead me to decide that i am doing the rest of highschool online from home anyway starting next year through a virtual highschool program. this is due to the fact that i hate everybody i encounter in my school (except a select few) and i could get 20 times the amount of work done in four hours at home than in 8 hours at school.


Fuck the school system.

 

i did well in freshman and sophomore year, even though i seldom attended classes and was usually in the library and this was with honors classes and i was about to go to ap classes, but then i transferred to a private and i've done so shitty due to the fact that you can't miss class and it's just a hell of a lot harder. but i got accepted into city college so it's all good.

 

Haha, I was just about to post something to the same effect. I never skipped class in high school, despite the fact that I was/am a pothead, but that didn't stop me from fucking up my whole freshman year of college by doing just that. High school is easy as fuck and if you can't stay on track yourself you still have people who will make you stay on track so I really don't understand how people can fuck up high school.

 

I actually did better after I started smoking herb. but hey, if you dont wanna go to school, its your choice, your future, but dont blame weed. Someone needs to hand me my burger through the window.
on a side note, I agree with those guys up there on the mock bands called music. They look like idiots, and the noise they call music sucks.

Just today I had to walk out of a class because a teacher wouldn't let me piss either... bastards.

But all my classes are honors and I make decent grades I have a 2.7 which isn't great, but I also have a full time job and I like to party a lot. You can still go to school and have a great time.

But everyone here is saying that you have to go to school to be successful which really isn't true. My best friend dropped out, got his GED and is now working for UPS, which pays decent money. Of course, you really have to know people to do decent without a diploma. Fortunately my friend's Dad has worked at UPS for 25+ years, so he got him a job easy. Now all he has to do is stick with it, work hard, and he'll eventually get up to making $380 a day like his old man, which isn't bad at all.

 

weed helps me in school, anytime i've smoked up before classes started it was positive for me.

its takes away the boredom of school, helps me be able to actually be patient enough to take the time to try on my work, and im alot better socially to, not in the way when im drunka nd just dont care what i say or do, i am just relaxed and feel i should be alot nicer person when im high.

get high and go to school is what you should do.

also think about it, when you get the classwork done you can just lay your head down and enjoy a nice zone for the rest of the class, thats fucking great.

 

thats if you have a pretty slack school.

i use pot very little during the week, and only afterschool if i do.

while high, i find difficulty studying/learning to full extent, so i wait till after the work is done

 

for some people it is the high school atmosphere mabey you should do another program or something

 

That's bullshit... I went to one of the best prep schools in the United States on what basically amounted to an unofficial hockey scholarship and smoked all the time during high school without any ill effects as far as my grades were concerned.

i cant drive at full capacity while high (or on most other "fun" drugs), so i dont.

Yes, I can't concentrate worth shit on homework if I'm high. I just give up and go play video games.

If I go to school high however I do well on tests and such.

 

i never had motivation to do homework in school.. before or after i started smoking weed.. but i could ace a test.. showing that i understood the concepts.. just never did the homework...

 

It is not even a given that if you finish school, go to college, that you will make money. Many people with master's degrees (teachers and social workers specifically) make shit money, but they are, for the most part, doing something they love. But that doesn't mean school isn't important. OF COURSE money won't buy happiness, but education opens more doors for you so you CAN do what makes you happy in life. With a degree, you can pick and choose what you do with your life rather then being stuck working minimum wage. The opinions you have in the work force without a high school diploma are very, very limit. And even with a high school diploma, you are extremely limited. Find what you are passionate about, forget about money, and go to school for it. But on the flip side, money doesn't buy happiness, but poverty sure doesn't cause happiness either.

 

i think i'll be more motivated when i get to 6th form. i wont skip lessons coz i'll get paid to go. money means more weed....

 

You just need something to motivate you, lol.

For me, keeping a 3.0 GPA or better (I'm in college btw) means I get to go to school for free. I also live here on campus. If my GPA drops below 3.0, I won't have money to pay for college. That also means I get kicked out of the housing here. I'd have to go live with my Dad again where there's no weed and no partying.

Its a lot easier for me though. I pick my schedule and we never have "busy work" in class. Last semester my earliest class was at 12:30pm, in the fall it'll be at 2pm. Back in Highschool though I didn't smoke. I didn't really concentrate on my grades either. I just did the bare minimum to get through High School, but I still had over a 3.0 GPA so I could get this scholarship and go to school for free.

You should just think about your future. What will a GED get you, compared with a High School diploma? I swear most High Schoolers are so immature, smoking too much and not caring about responsibilities. I say people should learn to take care of themselves and their own living situation before they can smoke, lol. Yeah I took care of mine, I'm a senior in college, I spent a couple years building my GPA up so I could have the luxury to relax and smoke.

 

my motivation to go to school is to not be an ignorant asshole, like many of the stupid motherfuckers on this earth.
I want to know a lot of shit about a lot of shit.
I simply can't STAND dumb idiots who cant keep an intelligent conversation or have no idea about the depth of things around them.

It's simple. GO.TO.SCHOOL. & DO.YOUR.WORK.

same here, man. senior year i smoked every day, never did a single piece of homework, and pretty much destroyed all the tests that came my way. my grades weren't bad either.
