    Completly agreed.

I think the word has completly lost it's connotation through translation in languages... I really think it's PERSONAL connection to the divine. Nothing more. Doing all these routine speeches and demands to "God" is about the same as litterally asking a milk jug. I saw that in many atheist arguments and it's true...

God is not a fucking ali baba genie in a lamp.
Or a Monkey in a Jack in the Box that pops out after singing to it and turning the crank.

I believe PRAYER in ancient times meant studying/meditation/contemplation and perhaps even yoga. Taking on the personal journey back to higher self. Nothing more.

This current day philsophy of ask and then yes no wait is complete madness... makes no sense...

You create your own experience by virtue of what you hold within no external force, lamps, jack in the boxes, or milk jugs required.

The divine spark and God connection is already within ... that were "prayer" comes in ... figuring out how to get it working to the absolute best you can...

If I didn't know any better I'd say that almost sounded a little condescending.
As if I don't know what matters...

Trying to take the high road there? After all your blab about what prayer should be...

I'll tell you what, you take the high road and I'll take the REAL road.

Once again, you interject your condescending "holier than thou" attitude with regards to prayers and atheists.

You think that as a christian, you alone have the moral high ground when it comes to prayers and dealing with others of various faiths as well as atheists.

Here's an advice for you and your ilk:
"Save your prayers for yourselves, I'm pretty sure, you will be needing lots of it".
