what kind of music does everyone like to listen to when they're tripping? personally i like music that deliberately plays games with sound. some of the groups or artists i've become particularly fond of are The Tear Garden, Luke Vibert, and the computerjockeys. each has their own unique sound and style. the tear garden was just amazing...and if anyone is a Cevin Key fan they'll understand what i mean right away. Luke Vibert seems to understand music excellently...always knowing just the right amount of touch to add to everything he writes. I would recommend his cd Yoseph...featuring the track I Love Acid : ) as far as the computerjockeys..if you listen close enough you hear the lengths they go to to make sure all the various sounds in their songs are soft and light. so what does everyone else prefer to listen to? it'd be really cool to hear some new bands worth checking out : )
my buddy showed me a cd by a guy callin himself Dr. Steel...and that was definitely some interesting music. i don't know if i'd call it metal..just cuz of how different and experimental it sounded...but that's about as close as i COULD get to describing it : )
that's cool man. i just think music is so special. i can't put my words around my feelings for it...but i think it's just an amazing form of expression that we as a human race are really lucky to have discovered. not that i like all forms of music : ) music says so much that words can't.
Lightning Bolt Hella Don Cherry The breathing of the Universe (that's not a band it's real life  )
Some psychedelic ambient. The song "Instability" by Shulman, here: http://www.shulman.info/downloads.htm
shpongle, shpongle, shpongle, shpongle, shpongle, shpongle, shpongle, shpongle, shpongle, shpongle, oh my god shpongle.
last time i tripped (....DOb....grrrrr) i listened to phish doing their midnight-sunrise set and it was epic. also enjoy portishead, zero 7, the grateful dead, string cheese incident, kelpe, and many many more.
jolom, how good is luke vibert - I love that guy. You should check out wagonchrist which I think he also has something to do with. Some other stuff if you like him: trent moller, akufen, adam johnson, susumu yokota or odd nosdam and for everybody is else let me present Luke Vibert https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmoFNya6P4Q
I personally like more modern dance music/ trance/ electronica whilst tripping. It gives me a lot of energy, and puts me in a great state of mind. I enjoy dancing ; )
RATATAT The Shins Daft Punk All are great to listen to, a few shout outs.. RATATAT - Seventeen Years The Shins - Red Rabbits Daft Punk - Around the World (Those are my favorite songs from each group while tripping)
yeah i really love him : ) i actually found him through Wagon Christ..was wadeing through the mounds of vinyl at a secondhand store and found a 2lp set called avante-gardeist drum n bass. it was an aphex twin remix of one of his songs but it led me to him in another record store later : ) here's a link to the song..it's called Spotlight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2LmpkbXdNs you probly know already but luke vibert also produces drum n bass under the psuedonym Plug. he got some kinda acclaim for Drum n Bass for Papa...but i've never actually listened to it. Wagon Christ did a remix of The Lake of Winter by Nobukaza Takemura which i really like..even if the only version i've ever heard was recorded horribly. but definitely..gotta love Luke : )
