Hey cool hippy Hey ! I have a history class that i have to do a project in. and of couse as a hippy myself i have chosen that subject and i have been researching since the "beat Generation". Well my first question is what major movements did the hippies start? another thing i have to ask is about me i am different from the rest of my class and they think its funny because i express my decisions and protest alot of things that occur in class. What can i do to shut them up and off my back? i dont want to compromise! Peace out! l lee
contrary to a lot of popular belief ...hippies were not all about protests...some protested but the majority did not ..it was more finding themselves ..one thing that was common to all hippies was peace and love ....to understand how this movement started out you should read jack kerouac's ON THE ROAD.....this was probably the single most important book to redefine the new generation ...like the old hippy saying DROP OUT ,TUNE OUT ,TURN ON
We protested the viet nam war because it was so senseless and we were watching or buddies come home in body bags.
