So i backcombed my hair yesterday. It started some knots but i dont know if they will last. My hair is extremely straight so my mom(lol yea i know my mom put in my dreads) put a ton of wax in and i dont know what to do next? Also, im thinking of keeping rubber bands in jus for the first couple days to keep them seperated, is that ok to do?

And for shampoo/washing i have this nuetrogena anti residue shampoo that i found at walgreens, should i not use it or what because i could jus order some dr.broners but i dont know how long it will take to be shipped.

Ill try to add pictures once i figure out how to

P.S I found out about this forum 1 day to late and didnt realize the huge wax problem

Yeah, follow Soaring's guide to washing out the wax since there's way too much in there.
And if you're using the small, black elastic bands those do wonders for helping each dread along. I had some at the root and a some at the tips of a few of my dreads. They'll just eventually break or you can pull them out carefully after a few days.

your really better off removin the bands after the 1st day or 2
they can be swallowed by the dread (where they rot inside) breal off in chunks again losing peices inside to rot or can begin breaking down (grtting sticky and starting to rot and fasll apart) in weeks

buy a few beads and dreads that begin to fall apart too much jusy t force in a bead or do a wool or hemp wrap

added a wax removal sticky (soon as a mod stickies it ) so please anyonr feel free to contributer your wax removal expertise
