Is unviersity of BC any good? I mean, are the people any good, and are the professors and staff any good? Are the coruses for mathematics (dont know exaclty what i want to do) any good? Are the Dorms "comfy" and nice? what am i really asking, is it worth it to go to UBC from ontario? all comments welcome, would be better from students who go to UBC
I know people in UBC and they say it's fantastic. It's definitely one of the best universities in Canada. I don't know about the math courses and stuff but you don't need to worry about dorms, etc., they'll be good for sure.
I need to convince my parents on why i want to go to that school... So i need your guys helps, also it would be great if you guy told about you "culture" or the city life there too...
I'm from about 5 hours out of Van, but I go to school way out in NB. UBC is humungous, its like a whole city, i think they even have their own mayor and police force. It's in a very nice spot, lots of forest and nature. Great Eastern Studies (Asian studies) programs there too. That's about all I know.
I'm currently a newly accepted UBC student...I am having SUCH a hard time finding a friggen plce to LIVE in Van! What is up!?
Professors and courses are the same at pretty much all major universities in BC. I would check out ratemyprofessors.com That's where I checked in university before signing up to classes with specific teachers.
the housing situation is ridiculous in van. the only advice i can think of is try to find shared student housing.
one of my good friends is doing a coop program at ubc and shes loving it... but she hates how long it takes her ot get to campus from her place. well, hated, i think she recently moved, but still. biiig city and findin a place close to campus is pretty difficult
