If you only had a few days in Amsterdam what would you do? Where would you go? What would you smoke? I have read all the tourist guides ect but would love to hear from the people who have been there and done it about their experiences and the best of Amsterdam. Suppose I should mention I'm quite smoke orientated as well! Heading over next week, can't wait!!
my short trip list would include: Grey Area Coffeeshop Amnesia Coffeeshop Bluebird Coffeeshop Vondelpark Rijksmuseum The Last Waterhole (bar w/ live music that you can smoke joints in) Canal Cruise (preferabbly private...but even if you have to do the big tourist boat DO IT!!!)
hope you have a great thime just goo and do you'r own thing . the weather is lovely i was in the dam for Queens day had a great thime. plenty of *weed* just chill and goo with the floo and enjoy the coffeeshops . have a good one
Koopa has the good info here. Also I say learn to use the trams. Sure in Amsterdam it is easy to walk to about anywhere. If you want to maximize your time use the trams, buses and even canals. You can get a public transportation map and they are so easy to use. The hardest part is figuring out how to use the strippenkarts so we just go to the tourist just to your right coming out of Centraal Station and get a transportation pass GVB I think its called. Koopa can answer if if you ask? Remember the trams stop running around 11-12 PM but I remember that the buses run later. You can see more if you will use the public transportation system, its cheap just ask people to help you. get some maps, passes & go for it. I have a GPS & I used it like all the time. While people were standing around trying to figure out the names of the streets we were well on our way to the next destination. My friend didn't have a GPS but he rented one from a local place when he went. You can check out Damprking where they filmed some of Ocean's 12. I also would vote for Leidseplein area a cool place to hang out, some good shops De Rokerij. Take trams 1,2 or 5 to get there. Good bars, coffeeshops, restaurants
Can highly recommend De Koe (http://www.cafedekoe.nl/) for great food and a smoking friendly environment. Not sure how the ban has affected their policy but skinning up after your dinner of Ostrich steak with truffle sauce and a great bottle of white wine for less than 30 euros each is a pleasure. Smoking it outdoors is polite if people are eating and probably necessary now. Menu is in Dutch only but the staff are brilliant with us foreign types. Try Alegria if you come across it in the coffeeshops you visit - seems to be new this year and has been consistently lovely thus far. Enjoy. There's little hope for you if you don't.
