Old folks are losers, they can't work computers, they die in December time...

hah, I just realized the title of this thread conflicts with the statements made in the OP. if old people can't work computers, how come they're on internet forums? hah!... I'm slow.

 

I myself am incredibly annoying sometimes. Sometimes I even annoy myself. Does that ever happen to u ?

That's probably true, actually. And yeah, I kinda admire old people who use technology, but it does seem to have an infantilising effect on some of them.

It's just kinda lame to find yourself explaining really obvious flaws in reasoning, or just pointing out that, on balance, it generally better to be nice to people, not patronise them and to turn the caps lock off now and then... and then to look to the left and realise "shit... This person's twice my age!? Am I going to turn into this when I'm older?!"

 

I'm the complete opposite. Yesterday I was walking to the store, it was a beautiful day and I was in a terrible mood and this 3-4 year old chinese girl came running out of a tanning/nail salon and she looked at me. Smiled the biggest of smiles and waved a super happy happy hello. It made me so happy, she was so cute. I felt like giving her a hug

Then when I was coming home from the store and was about to enter the apt, there was this old lady, pushing another older one in a wheel chair. They both smiled at me, with such a sincere kindness, I said hello and have a nice day. I felt like giving them a hug

I wonder as I walked in why do children and old people make me feel the same way? It's like they are so fragile and innocent. I mean kids are obviously innocent, but with older people I feel like they become innocent again, like being purified, if that makes sense.

 

you also have to keep in mind that these are people who enjoy hanging out on forums with people half their age...

 

Well, I found this thread very interesting. I always wondered what the younger people thought of me, as an older person, and now I know. I've tried to treat everyone here with kindness and respect, whatever their age. I thought the generations could all learn from each other, I thought that was one of the interesting things about this forum, but clearly that is not true.

I was just kidding. I actually like old people. NICE old people. And I used to dislike kids for some reason, but lately I developed a certain liking for them.
Like you said - they are sincerely kind. I appreciate that. It touches my heart to see genuinely nice people.

I was led to believe that generations should learn from each other too. There just seems to be a section of the older generation who've chosen to learn from five year olds when it comes to manners.

 

There are like three posters who get on my nerves here and two of them are older. Well I mean all three of them are older then I.

Mostly because their idiots though. I don't like young idiots either.

I mean I don't expect you people to be geniuses, but jesus.
