weed made me want to try hallucinagins. boredom, depression, and good old fashioned curiosity made me want to try harder drugs. granted, that probably wouldn't have happened if weed hadn't changed my perception of drugs in general
I tried mj, and after a long time, I wanted to further expand my mind with LSD, then I wanted to get drunk so I did. Salvia is nothing IMO. Pills are fun as well. EDIT: Yes I will continue to try more and more drugs, I know I will. Not meth or Heroin, but I know I will end up doing coke, as well as opium.
Even before i did drugs, weed wasnt the only drug i wanted to do. Sure it was the first drug i did but i was really depressed when i first started and quickly moved on to heroin and cocaine and all kinds of pills within the first year of actually smoking, I still would love to do that stuff but im still 17 and live with my parents and just got done getting caught with methadone in school after about 6 months of being on it and selling it so im trying to fix my life up right now. I love weed though, its helped me so much more then it has hurt me.
Not for me. I tried LSA and salvia before I tried marijuana, and my list of drugs I want to try hasn't changed since I started smoking over a year ago.
Boredom is a gateway drug. I had a prescription to adderall long before I ever smoked marijuana so ill make the argument that prescription drugs are a gateway drug. And im not saying thats a bad thing either. :H
I've always been interested in drugs, of course when I was young as a kid I never thought about doing them, they were "evil". Then when I was about 13-14 I stumbled on to my dads stash and pipe.. been smoking weed since then, nowadays Im more interested in pills I guess, I got a free Ms cot. and Roxy one day in 2years ago.. so that sparked my interest I guess, so whatever is there, not really weed leading to pills or anything else, just curiosity-But that kills the cat.
I went alcohol-weed-shrooms-e-codeine-more e-coke. Shrooms were my favorite by far, and coke isnt even a good feeling, just feels like your pumped up ready to kick some ass. Im not that kinda person so it isnt for me. I think I wouldn't have tried anything other than booze without weed.
I think if you are the type of person that is not controlled by the media and government and tried pot, you will probably consider trying another drug in your lifetime and why not make it your prime highschool years Just because smoking pot and doing other drugs are on a line does not mean they are connected Just like bad grades and smoking pot are seen as going together; more often the not the type of person that will smoke pot is also the type of person that will slack off a bit and enjoy life, reguardless of pot or not Does smoking pot put emo cloths on you and pierce your ears? Does smoking pot choose your friends for you or make you late to class? There is a strong correlation between bad grades and smoking weed, but not so much a correlation between smoking weed and getting bad grades
The only reason weed is considered the "gateway" drug is because u usually start at a young age with mary jane. And no 13 or 14 year old is gonna go straight to meth. They try weed because it is the most abundant and least dangerous.
Fact: (i read it in a marijuana magazine) People who try cannabis before alcahol, are twice (or 3 times, I cant remember) more likely to go on to do harder drugs than those who try alcahol first.
i tried alcohol first. then i smoked weed a few times, then i did a shitload of speed freshman year, i still smoked last year but not nearly as much as this year... anyway the point of me saying that was i did speed and drank and shit like that before i ever really got into marijuana so no i don't think it is, at least for me. and then there;s the whole argument about how it wouldn't be if it was legal but everyone's heard that so yeah i won't re-type it
I moved straight from Weed to LSD, so it was all good. But never go out of Weed, Shrooms, LSD. Because then your most likely fucked. Correct me if I'm wrong.
It's a specific example of a general phenomenon known as the foot in the door phenomenon. Once people go along with a small task, they are more likely to go along with more difficult and complex ones as long as the gap between adjacent tasks isn't too large. This is also where the 'slippery slope' theory comes from. Some people may have no interest in other drugs. Others, after having tried marijuana, may realize how full of shit our culture is when it comes to viewing drugs, and be willing to try substances they may have previously sworn they'd never ingest. With the proper preparation and mindset, of course. I'd fall under the second category.
alcohol and nicotine seem to be the gateway drugs. for me, when I smoked pot and found out more about acid and shrooms, of course i wanted to do them. but I've never had the urge, so far, to do anything else. I have, nothing hard, but I never liked them. It all depends on the type of person.
