Hey all I was just wondering how everyone feels a couple of days after their acid trips.

I ask this because I have tripped, oh, four times now and each time has been wonderful, new, enlightening and exciting. But the days after are a complete emotional rollercoaster. One minute I feel ok, normal, tired maybe, then the next I am curled up in the fetal position questioning every desicion I have ever made in my entire life. I feel completely unmotivated, cut off from the world and alone. I forget how to connect with people, or even how to communicate with them. This rollercoaster of emotions usually subsides after a couple of days but it is getting to the point where it's not even worth the trip. Is this normal? Or am I tapping into some sort of hidden psychosis?

I agree with Xzei, I would definitely ask a doctor about that. I've never had that type of experience after a trip.

i've found it depends on the state of your life. i've had difficult days afterwards..but i've also had really uplifting days after. examine your world if you have questions. i always remember lyrics from Matt Johnson..and i don't know how aptly they apply to you so forgive me if i'm offending you in any way:

If you can't change the world change yourself
    If you can't change yourself
    Then change your world.

Most people feel great after a good trip. Being a little shaken after a particularly bad one is normal, however. It sounds to me like you may have some latent issues that you should deal with first. In the meantime, you can try meditation, yoga or a number of other things to induce a similar state of mind.

Hm, thanks for the advice you guys. I hadn't really heard of anyone else feeling that way (especially after good trips), and my trip buddies were pretty unsure as well.

I suppose I'm going to lay off the psychedelics for a long while, even through shrooms have never made me feel that way, I really don't want to push it.

yeah , i have the same "problem" idk if i should call it a problem. and yes it happens after a good trip too!!!!for example on monday (5-5-08)I took it for the RADIOHEAD concert here in West Palm , FL. and what an amazing show , everything was great . but then after the trip or i should say on thelast hours i started feeling the same and questioning about the decisions i made about life in general, i also feel lonely sometimes , even depressed idk this feeling just comes and then goes. but its definately getting to a point were i dont want to trip anymore(or at least that what i always say to my self) . IDK what it is??? however i think the only thing i can do is learn from all of this , i mean thats the reason i do it anyway. but yes i understand how you feel.

I had a poor trip and i was shaken once.

But the day after i usually feel really happy.

  9. Yeah, the days after you are supposed to feel happy, like the very connected and overall feeling great about life and what you have learned...some go as far is changing their whole life around for the bette because of what they experienced.

Sounds to me you may have some adjusting with your life to do? That type of reaction is bringing out some sort of, not mental disorder, but negative mind set possibly, or even things really bothering you underneith it all? I'd dig deeper...

It is just acid showing you how unhappy you are with your life. Maybe not unhappy, but not happy either. Try thinking what you like, what makes you happy and try to do those things. Spend more time with people you love, don't be alone and bored, try to change your life style if it doesn't satisfy you, find what is missing in your life and bring it in your life. Thats all what acid is about, to show you the way to your hapines!

I always feel refreshed the next day, like all the weight of the world is off of me. I researched this a little and found that usually people that feel fine and refreshed are at ease with how their life is going, people who have problems the days afterwards usually have some type of incertain feelings. My best friend cannot take lsd because he cannot sleep for nearly two days afterwards and we came to the conclusion this is because he has too much serious stuff going on in his life. I can take it, fall asleep at 3am and be up and at work by 7am and feel perfect

Usually I've felt very recharged, totally re-invigorated, and inspired afterwards. The only time I remember feeling "blah" afterwards was once when I needed to face up to some stuff that I had been pushing away from my mind for a long time. While dosin', it all came to the surface, and it wasn't fun to obsess on it, and it was impossible to ignore. Basically it was just a realization that my job/career sucked, I hated everything about my job, and needed to do something different. Afterwards I polished my resume, went and found a better job, and started a whole new chapter in life, and I am quite glad for it. But it was work. Though I later scrapped that chapter in life for another one! And so it goes.

It wasn't fun to learn that I had a mess to clean up, but the wakeup call was necessary, and I benefitted tremendously from it.

I have the same problem and I am bipolar. I take mood stabilizers every morning to even out my chemicals. All you need is to listen to some relaxing music, take a cold shower, drink some fresh water, and wrap a cold sheet around your body while you meditate.

However there is an acid hangover for every friend I have, but it usually lasts for a day and not even that long. I think it depends if you're hungry before the trip, and if you don't drink much water during the trip. When the trip wears off, make sure you fall asleep as soon as possible. When you wake up take a cold shower and walk around outside.

In my experiences I had problems with a bad relationship and because of that I was already losing connections with my friends (ie communicating). Even though I thought I was doing fine, it turned the LSD trip into an amazing depressing love song I wrote two month later. I noticed the world was turned upside down and everything wrong happened in the same week. I stole from a charity and got caught while skipping schoo [diversion]l. I tripped in a barn during a fucking tornado with my girl friend at the time and my soon-to-be divorced parents didn't know where I was. It was the day after and they told me I was out of the family and threatened to send me to boot camp... so I was pretty down and I just wanted to sleep and forget everything.

This was before I found out I was bipolar. Now I take my meds and I can commun to everyone normally and LSD is the most amazing experience ever.
