    hey all,

Yea, serious question... Now, before anyone jumps to conclutions... no way... I absolutly love the way I am.. I would never change for anyone... and find that for me, this is the road to happyness... however... it has come to my attention (and my wifes), that most people in society seem to find us weird. Its not the hair, or the cloaths... it seems to me, just our attitueds turn people away. Friends from the past don't really relate to us, or want to contact us... we just don't click with people in our families, and work...

As I'm sure many on here are, were both Veg, we support peace, and not the troops, we don't care for religon (or organized churches) but have our own spiritual belives... we belive people should be kind... we don't care for racsism, we support gay marrage... you know.. the things that we always feel make this world a better place. However, it seems that the older we get, the most people seem to find us... odd...

Anyhow, like I'm saying, I don't care... but I'm wondering if anyone else feels they have a (harder time than usual) fitting in? It has started getting to us..

    Peace all

Yes! Exactly what my wife and I feel! We just were having this conversation. I agree totally, and I can relate. Don't worry about it though, it'll work itself out...just seek out others who fit with you.

Well sure I've been called a freak and a weirdo, and I've been bullied to extremes as well, but I know there's a fantastically amazing group of people I do fit in with,a nd each one of them is worth ten times one of the bullies.

Yep I'm a weirdo.. proud of it, to be normal would be boring as hell.
Every time someone called me a freak, weirdo, hippie, beatnik etc I'd smile and say "thanks".. sure confused them :D

    Hey Pepper!

Yea, wierd stuff eh... but for sure, we have learnt to stick to people like us... for some reason we find that most people just have such bad energy to them... unfortuanly a lot of them are in our family.. lots of rasist homophobic bible thumpers.... a night with many of them just wreaks our mood for days...

but yea, our only close friends are all hippies...

    Hey soaringeagle.

I compleatly agree... we kinda feel the same way... the reason I posted however, is that after a while... you start thinking...

"nearly everyone in this world is odd"... or is it us?

but dude, you are right... they don't make sence... I wish them well, and cannot ever see myself going down that road.

    Peace brother.

OMG, yes, I compleatly forgot about that one... They think were weird because we acctaully seek the truth... they think were absolutly nuts for not beliving everything on TV... they cannot understand how a person cannot watch televesion and be normal... were freaky for questioning the media, hating corporations... my god, I even got into it once with my wifs old friend who took offence to me not wanting a wallmart in our town... (and don't get me started on the war and 911).

Yea, anyone who thinks for themselves, and tries to find truth - is a basket case eh ;)

I've always felt 'different' for sure. Here's my little story (novel... lol)

Well, during my life I've been a bit of an outsider. I tried different looks/styles until I found my own, but most of my youth was spent trying to blend in. Yes it went against my grain, because I hate mainstream society and convention, and I have my own sense of style, but I got so tired of feeling left out and alone that I gave it a try. (hey... I was young)

However, it seemed that no matter how I dressed and tried to behave, people STILL looked at me a certain way. It's hard to describe; not good or bad, more of a double take... as if they're not sure what to make of me and just *have* to continue looking. (my mum says its because I have such charisma and beauty.... lol awww dont you just love her [IMG] )

As a child, through to adulthood, it really bothered me and shook my confidence a great deal; I assumed that maybe I'm ugly or strange looking in some way. I just couldnt work it out. Even tried asking people I knew, but people rarely tell you anything straight... so that didn't help.

I tried to dress fashionably, and look conventionally pretty, etc But I came to the conclusion that strangers *still* must see something in me that they find curious, because they still stare. And since I'm probably never going to know why this is, I just let it wash over me and be myself now.

Getting older sure helps! YAY to getting older!! [IMG] Oh..... to have known this years ago.... lol

I reckon that perhaps we hippies are all from the same genepool... just a different one to he rest of the world!! lol [IMG]

Its because in normal society, where the normal little sheep sit in thier normal homes with thier normal family and normal jobs, the very idea of *gasp* standing out, being different, being an individual, is just CRAZY!
Why, oh why would anybody want to be different?

I feel that for anyone to be weird there would have to be an accepted definition of what is normal. Our view of normal is just a product of our environment and our experiences.

I also feel a little left out of the crowd, but instead of depressing me, it makes me much happier. My strong opinions about many different things seem to turn people away from me, as in high school, you rarely find people willing to fight for a cause (other than someone shutting down their favourite shopping spot, but even taht would pass and they'll find somewhere new) Anyway, what I was saying is, both me and my boyfriend are VERY odd. I am a loner at school and before he graduated he was also. Which is areason I fell in love with him. :) I like being odd.
