How many of you ware glasses?

How many of u ware glasses? If u do, do u like them?

 

I should (I'm VERY short-sighted) but a lot of the time I wear contacts instead. i'm so short-sighted that my eyes look TINY when I wear glasses

 

I wear reading specs when it gets late and I can't focus on the words I'm reading/writing anymore. Also, when my allergies get bad or if I have to go to school on no sleep, I wear them to keep my eyes in focus. Other than that, I don't need them... yet.
See, my mom's near-sighted and my dad's far-sighted, so I'm hoping that means my eyes are perfect, lol. Not likely as my mom has astigmatism, and since she turned 50 has developed a certain amount of far-sightedness as well...
Whatever. I look cute with glasses.

 

I only wore glasses briefly to see the blackboard when I was in late elementary school...after that I convinced my parents that I could responsibly handle contact lenses, thus, I've been wearing them ever since.

I think many people look great in a good pair of glasses but, unfortunately for myself, I suppose I'm too vain to wear them. *laughs* I think they make me look really unattractive and OLD!

 

i have worn glasses since i was 8 years old. it was when i got my first glasses that i realize i was growing old and it was just a matter of time untill i would die. that is strange... to have my mid-life crisis at 8 years of age! i'm 51 now; what most people would call "mid-life" and no crisis. i still ware glasses. i've tried contacts but, i can't ware them do to sever allergies. every time i've tried them i get eye infections. last time i tried contacts was 2 years ago and, i got eye infections again. if i were to undergo surgery to "correct" my eyes i would still need glasses. i'm near sighted now and, after surgery i would then be far sighted. it is just not worth the trouble and/or exspense! the great news is i may never need bifocial. most people my age ware bifocials. i tried on several peoples bifocials...what a load of shit bifocials are! i hope i can advoid them.

Actually contacts are more useful for people with short sight - I see better with my lenses in, when I remember which way round they go!

 

I wear glasses virtually all day but I'd like to get contacts once I get around 16-18.

 

Somewhere at hipforums.com there is a management group that gets together and comes up with promotions or ideas to liven up the site. One such idea is putting out a more meaningless poll each day.

What I can't figure is, this is a free site, and it's pretty lively without such polls, so why is a promotion feature necessary?

i have worn glasses since the age of 3. so for me that is 43 years now. i have an astigmatism so, i have never even tried contacts. i had an eye examination a few weeks ago and now i'm officially an old man, i was prescribed bifocals, lol.

 

Would love to have Lasik done, but it costs too much. $2,200 for each eye!!! I'm having to get new glasses this month because mine are so old and messed up.

 

I can not see far away at all, my eyes are in horrible condition as far as that goes. I have to wear glasses, or I'd kill myself by falling. Obviously driving would be impossible, one time I lost a lens and had to get someone to drive me to the eye doctor and the only person I could find did not have his license and had not driven. I still figured he'd be less likely to kill us than I would at that point.

 

I'm near-sighted and have been wearing contacts for about 10 yrs..I have dark brown eyes and wear violet contacts. I have to use reading glasses too.

 

i have astigmatism and i'm near sighted. i wore contacts for about 7 years but now my eyes get inflamed if i wear them much, so i mainly just wear glasses. they suit me.

 

All the time, since I was 6 or 7.

 

ive been wearing since 8? idk... right now ive got some lennon glasses... not round ones but more oval... they have that little lennon character face on them. i didnt even know until after i bought them...

 

i dont. i have 20/20 but i wear sunglasses all the time!!!

 

hell yea!! glasses all the way. weirdly i just went to the eye docetrs today to get a new prescription and a new frame. when ever i dont have glasses on my friends hardly reconize me and say i look like a completely differnent person.
