I think Marie has this as part of her sig - People are like stained glass windows: they sparkle and shine when the sun's out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is light within. It reminded me of another quote that's very similar Most people are mirrors, reflecting the mood and emotions of the times; few are windows, bringing light to bear on the dark corners where trouble festers. The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows. Anyone have similar quotes to share?
