just have a couple question about lighting.. first, when you're in the "incubation process do you want it to be dark the whole time? and then when your in the fruit process do you want light? also if I am growing in a concealed location indoors could I use just like a lamp with a 40w bulb? all help will be appreciated.
Dude, read up on the PF tek, then ask questions. You're asking one of the first things you should read. Try shroomery.org and/or shroomtalk.com's forums.
I was curious after the cakes are out of the jar how much light should they get then? Pf-tek doesn't really address this.
Once you are ready to start pinning, you birth them, then give them about 12-16 hours of light per day. Almost any kind of light works, except for red. Cubes prefer light in the blue to UV spectrum, but as I said, anything but red is fine. They will work with just a few minutes per day of light. All they need is a pointer to know which way is up.
Break the cakes up into a 1/2 layer in the bottome of a tray. use sterilized vermiculite or something like that as a casing layer (so you can lightly water the cake ). Then lightly water put the whole thing back in the dark for 7 days. Then take the lid off the trays, put the lid back on the bin and turn on the lights 12-18 hours per day. Good luck.
