There are so many more beers out there than what you named. I don't drink expensive beer and I am far from being a beer conoussier (sp), but I like Killians, Natty Light, and Yuengling.

We make a beer that is as close to S. Smiths Oatmeal stout as homebrew can get, we call it 3-11 brew. As we brewed it for the first time on 3-11-2000.We roast our own steelcut oats for it. And crack our own grain. Next we will start roasting our own grain instead of buying it already roasted.

If we buy beer we try to get that, but can't find it anymore since we moved to the woods. So we go with Guiness, but NOT the draught....too pissed down for us.
We subscribed to BREW mag for a few years too and have some good clone recipes.
We also make ginger beer for the summer as sometimes I like something a bit lighter than stout.
My husband will only drink Keystone if faced with only choices of American regular beer, it comes in lined cans and doesn't have that aftertaste.

Wow. I did not realize there were so many people on hipforums that liked really, really, shitty beer... who the fuck voted for budweiser or any of that other american shit?? Americans make shitty beer... it is a fact... it all boils down to the way the beer is made...

I dont vote for any of the beers listed on this poll, because none of them come close to the rank of "best beer"... except for MAYBE guiness..

Milwaukes "beast," hehe, does that refer to the taste or how one feels the next day?

I do agree that Natural Ice is not at all a bad way to go when short on funds.

Now, when I can afford it, I am partial towards Guiness, and something called Pyramid IPA. Wolaver's IPA is another excellent IPA, and organic to boot. Redhook IPA will do in a pinch.

A good beer brewed near where I live is Shiner Bock. It used to be reasonably priced, but they jacked it up when it became trendy. Shiner was considered ''hippy beer'' back in the '70s ;) It really was better than Lone Star, the ''other'' cheap local beer, which was favored by the rednecks at that time.

Nowadays I generally just buy Busch in 16 oz cans if I'm short on cash. At least it's supposedly made of all natural ingredients. It is bland, but tastes alright and doesn't cause bad after-effects. But more and more, I drink less and buy the better stuff - a better arrangement all around!

Many years ago I brewed beer for awhile. It really is a lot of fun, and it turned out quite drinkable by following directions. It's worth doing if you've got the time and space for it - akin to the experience of eating vegetables from your own garden.

Totally agree about the Guiness! That ''draft'' stuff is a pale shadow of the extra stout, at least in my opinion.

    ?What is it then¿

I seem to like beers from the UK and northwest US best....although I just like beer except natural light, busch, beast, and imperial stouts I´ll drink it and be happy

Sam Adams is pretty bad though, right?

Guinness is stout, which is not beer. It is however far superior to every beer mentioned in the thread imho.

I dunno, could easily be wrong but I never would've classed Guinness as beer.
