Yes, garlic. You just need to stick in a couple of whole cloves and mash it up together. No-one has mentioned ground white pepper though.. VERY important.
I love mashed potatoes with cream and butter, especially with a good ragout or beef and mushroom stew....serving any kind of old style, non-asian or creole stew with rice instead of mash is a sin.

dave loves my mashed potatoes. i leave the skins on, throw in some sour cream, garlic, a little milk and butter. i can't eat them. they give my heart burn.
