Love Poem to my Existence in this World I love you! You know that. I want to dance and spin around And have sunshine and rain cascade down onto my skin. O, how my cells will embrace The nourishment the world bestows upon me. Oh you say I'm sweet? Well, you're just as, more! And you, you with your face lit up and your swelling teeth, You are more perfect in my mind Than anyone ever, you seem my other half. I feel for the mule with the crusty knees Who hauls tangerines And stares blankly into space, Yet I cannot help but hug myself with Delight at the sight. Choking on my rice leads to Laughter through watery eyes. I greet a coming cold (achoo!) With the joy of garlic. I wiggle my toes with the delight of it all. Dance in my head as I walk down the street. Slide on the slippery floor in cheap shoes. I love the good and the bad equally. Every detail glows, every frown smiles. Tomorrow will pictures of pack animals Cut the misery of the world into my eyes? Will I bang my toe on a stray metal pole And swear and curse into the air that surrounds me? Ay me, I love you now, and I love you now. Tomorrow maybe my joy will fade, and the waitress With the warm smile will be grumpy, And maybe that boy's smile will stop growing when I walk in the room But the memories will rekindle my love for you, Life.
