haha nah i dont think its leagle, i wet there thish year got searched and all, cops are apleanty up there, wild as a bore and crazzy az a coconut party time, was a blast going back next year in mayto rock out
The cops are trying to shut Nimbin down slowly. They were all cool with it when the place was all about weed. Until about 5 or 6 years ago when the hard drugs became seriously visible, and a huge problem . They used to only manned the cop shop for 3 hours a day 3 times a week and left the growers to sort out any theft of crops etc among themselves. It was a peaceful safe place.. But as always happens, word got out that you could buy big bags of it there cheap and along come the tourists, and with it the hard core, hard drug pushers. Now H is everywhere as well as anything else you want to get your hands on. This is what the cops object to. it is no longer the place to be I'm afraid. More hard drugs are being sold at the mardi-grass now. It's ruined it really because the place is swarming with cops and they usually do a road block and car search with sniffer dogs on the way outa town. They don't want you taking the stuff away with you. The chances of getting ripped off in Nimbin are now much greater too. The locals were great funny kind people and I used to go there a lot. Now Nimbin is full of shifty pushers. By all means go to the Mardi-grass. But stay on your toes.
