“Patients usually recover from the effects of jimson weed toxicity within 48 hours (if properly treated), with few side effects. Fatalities are rare. Amnesia for most events after ingestion of jimson weed are common. Long term sequelae are rare.”

So it appears that there is a possibility of long term effects, albeit unlikely. That being the case a regular doctor isn't going to cut it. The patient would need to see a specialist of some sort or another.

That's all I could find man.

this was som1 who during the trip handled it way better then any other sytory of dutura ive heard... she spent the trip with me was scary but she handlked it better then any1..
but from that day on shes just gotten worse and worse
(i didnt give it to her odviosly, i was really upset that any1 had she came into my tent just starting the trip i was amazed she found her way there and was hmm seconds or a minute before she started tropping hard)

few days later was last id seen her & next 6 months she fell apart hard...

the docs shes seeing i dont believe in they want to try electric shock on her now (yea its that bad the past 2-3 months shes only been outta the hospitol a handful of times) the night i posted this i spoke to 3 different personalities

she was the most amazing person i ever met..and shes fallin apart yea she had probs before this trip but was the strongest person i ever knew amnd since that day she took dutura shes been spiuraling downhill fast..

what kinda doc should she see? im trying hard to keep her goin day by day to see her neurologist in a few days but if she goes back in they'll e shock hert and that will hurt more then help her memories are alresdy getting fragmented like crazy..if i ever find out who gave that to her ...

it was scary enough that night... its really getting scary today..the greatest person i ever met was destroyed by this shit... and she handled it the actueal trip.. better then any i ever heard of...bont fuck with this shit...

im sorry just 6 months later..its still killing her...

ive actually heard that long term effects are quite common from a full blown deleriant dose; things like blurry vision, mental confusion, and even cardiovascular problems. and that quote is a little misleading cause its most likely in reference to accidental toxicity, which in relation to someone purposely poisoning themselves, would probably be less serious. death is really easy to achieve from purposely ingesting daturas.

if you dont mind me asking what kind of problems exactly did she have prior to the trip? this could have been all it took to push her psyche through the looking glass if she was already unstable. how much did she eat by the way, if you know?

i heard that datura is VERY powerful and VERY dangerous. the only way id approach that sort of experience would be with a true shaman, and id ensure the proper ritualistic preparation.

im not one for religions, but my salvia extractions have taught me that a plant-drug will treat you differently on how you treat it. (as a simple example, all my self-prepared extracts have lacked the intense euphoria i had with some properly done stuff...plus mine ALWAYS gives me an uncomfortable hardon-no clue why)

i was fine. I can't think of anything that would make her progressively worse.

Well a pre-existing mental condition is what comes to mind first. But she really should see a doctor of some sort. That doctor can refer her to the correct kind of specialist. I poked around but couldn't find what type that would be.

when i was young and stupid (several months ago) i ingested datura a number of times, id imagine around 10 times, each time with a higher and higher dose, i finally stopped after the time i took like 5 seed pods than ate like 30 benadryls (dont remember doing it just remeber waking up next to the empty packets and making myself throw up this red throw up). any ways thats beside the point, the point is despite how many times a did it, how i did it (raw seeds, flowers, leaves, root, made a tea, smoked), or what i did it with i was left with no long term negative effects, mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, or even visually. i am the same person i am after taking it. sorry i dont have any advice but i thought u'd want to know that she may just be the example not the norm. however, it could be reversed as well.
