In response to skip's "What will you do when the system collapses"

I would say this in the actual forum, but I feel that it is too urgent, and it NEEDS to be seen.

I read skips words, and realized that his concepts are possible. In fact, I would be very surprised if something of this nature did not happen. And although skips concept may be rather extreme, we should be prepared.

This reccession can well cause a resurgence of the hippie culture, and we need to help spark it. If we as a people, as a spiritually political denomination of the far left, band together, we can save this once great nation.

And in order for something of this nature to occur, our best bet would be to stock up on food, shelter, seeds, clothing, and all that can be used in a politicalapocalyptic situation as such.

If we as a people, as a tribe, can overcome martial law, chaos may ensue, and a short period of anarchism may follow. We must be secure and prepared for attacks from neocons, enraged buissnessmen, needlefreaks, hateful people, murderers, soldiers, etc.

Our mission to save ourselves can best be completed by all of us grouping in one place. We ALL need to move our families and possess our own community, a place where we can feel secure, autonomous, and continue to live peacefully.

Of course, when we create our nation-within-another-delapitated-nation, we must not let it slip into the poor, overdone, unoriginal, ineffective system of capitalism. I believe that if we pick a strategic ground to live on, we can thrive on a gift or trade economy.


Delete this if you will, but skip pointed such a scenario out, and I felt empowered to suggest a rather large, extreme, but possible and beneficial idea.

Not freaking out per se, just preparing.

 

Yep, preparedness is the key. Be ready with the material things that sustain you physically, mentaly, and spiritually.

And of course, ALWAYS save the seeds. You never know when you'll need them.

 

i think we should all come together again ,to fight through this time i can see it hapening either this or we all die of GLOBAL WARMING......Im not sure this world is so great

 

It's not just the one nation that needs to be saved, the entire world is at stake and all because people want more money! Once they find out the money, in reality, is just pieces of paper and metal, god knows what will happen

When I can, I'm making sure there's supplies in my house in a little crate for easy carriage, but I hope we all can band together (doubtful at time as it was before) in a time as that. Oh, and we need to make sure we can save the music somehow. If the internet is completly disabled, and all of the imformation and music and art is lost, our culture will take a certain nose dive in intelligence as well as history.

 

Before the Internet there were books. Mother Earth news gave simple do-it yourself solutions for just about every thing. A down hill stream of water can provide electrical power to run a homestead. Pound for pound Quail provide more return on your feed than chickens. Can't handle logs to build your house? Cut small logs into foot long pieces and stack them like fire wood. Fill the gaps with mud mixed with grass. There is always a way. My emergency supplies contains a plastic carry all (water tight) of books.

 

ok ive got the bomb shelter, gallons of water, and enough canned goods to feed us for six months...i am prepared.

 

6 months? Do you really believe everything will be up and running again in that short a time? I hope your right. Don't forget your duct tape.

Learn whatt resources in nature you can use . . .are those berries safe?

If and when society collapses, we will become no more than cave men. Learn what your environment can offer you.

 

If our society collapses then that is just a reaction from the laws of nature to regain balance, because we humans are taking but not giving. If something happens then i will accept that.

 

If there is a nucular holicost, nature will be contaminated for yrs n yrs.. water will be contaminated as will the air.. might as well bend over and kiss your ass goodby bc all the stocking up in the world will not help if you can't breath.

If it is a natural disaster then stocking up will help, buy some books about survival and prepare yorself, look on the internet and learn how to survive. I think there is a Class in the Free School here in HF on survival.

I can't see the USA going under to the point of desolution, if the US goes they all go down, bc it is on the backs of amarican taxpayers that the rest of the world rides. We buy all their commercial exports. Mexcio is already sucking the blood from the US. If something isn't done soon we'll be speaking hispanic and our cities and towns will be in ruins like mexico city.

I'd love to have a commune arrangement for those of like-mind to help each other, but it seems like a dream. How would you even begin to get that started?

 

oh trust me if you have land a communal living arrangement is easy to get started..
just post on the web a few places your starting a commune and you will have hundreds of mostly lazy freeloading wanting something for nothing head in the clouds instead of grounded in reality folks just dying to join your commune,,as long as they get a say in making the rules of course..


as far as the topic go's.. there will never be a nuclear war on a large scale,. the powers that be are not that stupid. the reality is they dont have to have a nuclear war to kill off most of the human race,thats what they have biological weapons for. much less harm to mother earth and much less time that they will have to spend underground while we all die slow painful deaths..

dont be so naive as to think that just because the system as we know it collapses that there will no longer be a power structure. there will always be those that control the oil,weapons,electricity etc. that however will be luxuries left to the elite and those that fight for them..
my advice,learn to be as self sustaining as possible because once the system collapses if you depend on hand outs to survive,chances are ya wont be living very long..
