Anyone get their wisdom teeth removed & know if dentists typically prescribe oxycodone or hydrocodone? I think my dentist might not prescribe it to me because I'm young and knows I'm a smoker. I dunno, do you have to convince them, although that may be hard or do they generally always prescribe one of the two?
if youre 21 then you're probably going to get vics, because my 18 year old friend got some. he got 40 7.5s. hope this helped.
My friend is 42 and he just had 2 wisdom teeth pulled. He said he tried like hell to get some vics, The dentist said now that there out, you won't have pain. Maybe just a little soar. He told him to take advil Now I had 2 pulled a year ago and I'm 40 and I bitched to the Dentist till he gave me some vics.. I walked out with 7 5/500 I almost went and shoved the script up his ass.. Unless you have an infection or cavity I wouldn't get my hopes up on getting to many pills. Maybe a couple
I got bad cavities in 2 of my four, and he suggests I get all 4 out. I also have a middle ear infection in one of me ears... so hopefully I'll have some luck
I hope so for you too. cause I think we all should get something for our discomfort.. A couple of cavities should help, I hope.. Ya my buddy had 1 cavity out of the 2 he got pulled and they didn't give him shit... You could always call the dentist about 3 hours after you leave and the novacaine wears off and tell him you are in a lot of pain. They useually will give ya something then.. Are they giving you anything now for the pain. If not you should call him and tell him how much pain your in. (OR TELL HIM HOW MUCH YOU HURT, DON'T SAY PAIN) Ya now is the time you should be getting meds from him, Before they pull them Keep us posted
I got 48 7.5/325 percs from my dentist after my wisdom tooth removal. However, he's our family dentist and has known us for years, has known me since I was like 4. I just told him the truth: Vics dont work for me and I have liver complications and can't really take a lot of APAP. He gave me an initial script of 24, and then when those were gone, I called him up and he left another script of 24 at the front desk of the dental office so I could pick it up and take it to the pharmacy. Also, most dentists wont just tell you to take Advil, and be aware that taking a bunch of advil (anything over about 1000mg per day) while your wisdom tooth sockets are healing is a REALLY REALLY BAD idea. Advil (ibuprofen) is an NSAID, or Non steroidal anti inflammatory drug. All these drugs cause the blood to thin, and cause decreased clotting. If you take too much of any NSAID (otc NSAIDS includ Ibuprofen and Asprin) during the recovery time from even a minor surgery like wisdom tooth removal, you are virtually gauranteed to cause dry socket, a very painful condition that results in the blood not clotting properly in the holes left behind where your teeth used to be, and causing this aching, really frustrating pain in your jaw and head. So if your dentist/oral surgeon tries to get you to just take advil, call him a day later and say "I have been needing to take like 10 ibuprofen every few hours to get the pain to go away, but my sockets have started bleeding a lot more than you said they would" He'll give you vics for sure at that point. Unless you have a lousy dentist like my current one who gave me fucking Propoxyphene for a gum infection... -V
Man if you have cavities, I would call him today and he will probley give you something. Then you can milk it out till you get them pulled and PARTY .arty: V Thats strange that the dentist would recomend that about advil.. I've never had a cavity or anything wrong with my teeth or gums so I don't know to much about dentists Hey let us know how it went and if you got anything
when i got mine out they gave me vicodin maybe 20-30 and 10-20 perkisets. but i never told my doc i smoked.
i got 40 oxycodone pills, and i was 16 when i got mine out .. then i was retarded and went back and asked for more lol
Yea I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth out and I got 12 perc's. Kind of a n odd number (well I guess even if you wanna get technical) and I don't remeber the mg's cuz I was opiate ignorant at the time. But yea most of my friend's who got there's out got like 20 vicoprofens, that seems to be the standard in Steamboat.
ur a very lucky guy. i didnt even know they gave oxy for getting ur teeth pulled. I thought hydrocodone was the max... guess it depends on the doctor..
I told you to call now and get them before you get them out Tell him tour teeth are killing you Read my other post Good luck
Yeah, I would get them now if I could. I doctors office is about 150 miles away and I'm broke and at school at the moment. I actually really do need the percs though, been drinking constanly for the pain and taking a lot of tynelol and antihystimines... hardly effective. It does concern me though that I might not get the pills when I definately need them! PS Any tips on getting them prescribed via the phone, and possibly getting it called in to the local pharmacy... not that I have the money at the moment to buy them!
