ok so the other day i was scratchin off that silvery crap they cover the pin number on calling cards with.. a chunk of that plasticy whatever the hell it is fell unknown into my bowl where it was accidently smoked and went inside the pipe stem every hit now makes me feel really fucked up, not a good high either, like im piosioning myself with every hit so i had to temporarily retire my only pipe till i find a way to clean this crap out i hate the idea of having to clkean it and waste all thgat resin thats built up over the years, i always say glass pipes are nit meant to be cleaned till they break, but i cant smoke out of it now will soaking it in alcahol till all the resin disolves also get the plastic out (assumming its trapped in the resin so should just flow out once the resins gone) any other suggestions?
I've always boiled my pieces. But im a clumsy S.O.B and ive cracked one or two doing that. Your idea sounds kosher.
I totally agree with your stand on not cleaning pipes... i RARELY clean my pipe.. and if they are being cleaned its because i've gone some time without weed... and im no longer able to get resin hits out of it because all the resin around the bowl or right inside the pipe, where the bowl hole is, is all burnt up... i've never tried cleaning with alcohol before.. so i really cant tell you.. but boiling it in water would clean it right up.. i've done that a time or two
got no alcahol around the house so might try biolong for future refference soak in alcahol and resin disolves.. reovepie eaporate alcahol and ya got your resin back
Be careful boiling your glass pipes, it weakens the glass and you might even just end up breaking it = ( If you felt like it you could go buy some sort of pipe cleaning solution.
^^^ gotta be careful with it cooling down as well.. the glass expands when heated and contracts when cooled... if this happens too fast the whole pipe can shatter
SALT! I always just use alcohol and salt. In a ziplock then I shake the solution through and the chunks just fall out.
boiled it twivce goit a ton of resin out still gettin sa ton out and still has that plasticy taste think i gotta get it completely clean.. i think ive onply had this 1 a year and smoke more blunts then bowls but damn theres alotta resin in it..lol and its all gone to waste..oh well.. i never get desperate enough to smoke resin anyway
Years of resin? Sick. Your pipe, not mine. Try using a paper clip to prod out whatever dropped into it, if you haven't tried that.
420 cleaner. around $8 a bottle is fair, at a headshop that is. Like the salt idea this product has a thick textured grain type mixed in and it works like a charm only takes a few min
lol not gonna spend $8 on crap i dont need just to clean a pipe that was free (its a nice glass but was a kind kickdown) biolin it got it clean might pour lil salt thru it.. but damn it hasnt hit like this in ages miss all the deep color it had tho
I think people should always take care of their pipes and clean them occasionly, I hate when bowls are so rezzed up you barely get a hit. Clean bowls are so much better to hit. Just scrape the resin out before you clean it.
If you don't have a screen glass pipes suck. I have only rez'd my pipe once and its over a year old. I still get scoobs, and you can get hits fairly easy. I think someone suggested this but scrap off your rez first and try to get the thing out before you boil all that THC away.
^^^Ummm I've never used a screen in a glass pipe and I still think they are the best all around smoking piece....we all know there is a bit of impracticality to water pieces... I'm thinking about cleaning all my pieces for the first time in a long time, I sort of want everything to be like brand new when I move into my new place.
