Someone gave me 3 NYD clones,I heard that they grow tall and spindly with a low yield outdoors! Is this true? Can I top them and make more of a bush out of them??? Thanks......
Never heard that. Usually outdoors makes everything "bigger" But yes, by topping and training the branches outwards you can realize some excellent growth.
Yes! they do get tall, sativa dominant, and yes the buds are smaller. If yer planting them outdoors without any LST or pruning they will get to be 18' +/-.
I heard that the clones will not get any bigger than the mother plant?? Thank u BudBill and NaturalHi for the information!!!
Well clones are genetic duplicates of the mother meaning that if the mother plant will max out at 10' then the clone (being genetically identical) will max out at 10' (assuming all grow factors being the same). It is the way to go when you have found a great plant. It is easy to do and a good skill to learn.
Indica strains if left to their own designs grow to be 8-10' tall Sativa; 18-20' tall mixed strains will be anywhere in between, that isn't to say we can't adjust their height down with LST and/or pruning:>)
Hey Natural hi,those NYDs are about two feet tall now! They smell to high heaven, one of the clones I guess is actually two clones! Its kinda cool, comes out of the rockwool as two identical plants! I am getting ready to start giving them nutes, what I have is Maxsea 16-16-16 is that a good product to start with? Just got four more clones,2 GDPs and 2 Urkels! Is it true the Urkel is a low yielding strain outdoors? Thanks......... Mendo.........
I've found that Fox Farms nutes work for me. Not familiar with Maxsea, but seems like for vegging one would want an NPK ratio of 8-2-4. So I'd go easy on the Maxsea. Are they Purple Urkels?!! Man I wish I could find some of those, all I've found are cross breeds. Did you find those at Herban Legend? As to yeild let me know when the harvest comes in=>)
My buddy turned me onto Maxsea,he used from start to finish in his back yard. Harvested 3 pounds off one HUGE plant!
