i am a regular smoker and i've been smoking since i was 16 i think.. i smoke about a half pack a day trying to cut down though, but i've been saying that forever
Yeah, I've been smoking for over a year. I started out only smoking Red's, but now I flip between parliaments(p-funk's) and marlboro 27's. I just can't smoke heavy cig's anymore. My lungs won't let me. And I feel so sorry for all you Northerners. Packs here cost around $3.75, and I don't think they're going up. Of course the tobacco companies contribute millions of dollars to state political campaigns, but I'm sure that's just a coincidence.
I paid over ten dollars for a pack of Du Mauriers (are they sold in the US?) today. Until I bought that pack I had gone five days without a cigarette. I feel much better now, but my respiratory system is pretty pissed at me.
When I was at Job Corps, cigarettes were so scarce that I witnessed some people pay $20 for a pack of newports when they bought them from another student. People would buy cartons of Newports and sell them for anywhere from $5 to $20 per pack, depending on the person and depending on whether they got the money upfront or had to front the cigarettes. They would also sell single Newports to people for 50 cents, with money upfront, and $1 if they had to front the cigs.
I only smoke weed. and hash. used to smoke cigs, couple years ago. these days I find the taste and smell and everything about them to be downright filthy and disgusting.
I feel you there, man. I hate wasting my cash on cigarettes, there are so many other far more entertaining things I could be buying but instead I buy cigarettes. I'm definitely addicted. I smoke twice as many cigarettes when I'm high and I'm always high so.. Mm, taste that cancer.
I went to Job Corps in Cherokee, NC, and that was supposedly the shittiest job corps campus in the country, as far as priveleges and whatnot. We didn't get to go anywhere that often and we always ran out of cigarettes. We only got about $30 every two weeks, so money was thin and people charged a shitload for small shit. It was basically a bunch of hustlin mofuggas just trying to make money off of people, and people had to pay the prices, because we were pretty much stuck on campus. That campus was so shitty that it got closed down, soon after I left. They didn't let us do shit. It was more like a county jail, or some shit.
