and i don't know how
i don't want to dread all my hair, just a few here and there. but if i do this then will the rest of my hair just knot around the dreads?
    any tips?
i'm going to wait a bit anyway to get a secure place at my weekend job. my plan is to make them really like me so that then once i get the dreads they wont really be that concerned. :)

    goood dayyyyyyy x

if you want only a few, I'd backcomb, if you'd go natural, all your hair would probably lock up. Just backcomb a few, maybe put some beads in 'm to keep 'm seperated from the other hair. And don't forget to comb the loose hair ;)

It would probably be impossible to let just a few dread naturally, so probably backcombing would be the only way. You should just do your whole head!

    Seconded!

And good idea on the whole job thing. Very sneaky, haha. It's unfortunate that lots of employers frown upon dreads.

thanks guys, i'll try your advice.
i would get my whole head done but to be able to decide on hvaing maybe my hair in a few plaits sometimes of just loose or tied back or something, it gives me a bit more variation, even though you can do loads with dreads i know but still, atleast this way if i do decide to dread my whole head in the end i can :)

Well if you want to go natural without b-combing but with only a few here and there you could do a couple wraps leave them in for a month or two and when you take them out they would be super tight dreads, you would have to wear the wraps for a while.

When I say wrap I dont mean the big thing you wrap around you entire head I mean you grab a dreads worth of hair, and a very long piece of string/yarn/hemp/thread or whatever works for you. Take the end of the string and place it at the end of the desired hair, run the string down to the root. It should look like you have a string of hair, now begin to wrap the string around the hair and the string, this way the loose end of the string gets wrapped in. Make sure to wrap very very tight! When your getting to the other loose end, you can wrap it in somehow or tie it on or whatever works for you.
